He's been separated from Mathew Barzal to begin 2025-26, but it's working out just fine for Horvat's offense.

Horvat didn't score a goal in any of the Islanders' first three games of the season, but he ended that skid with a dominant performance. The 30-year-old opened his tally with a shorthanded goal late in the second period, and he'd later add a power-play marker and an empty-netter to round out the scoring. Horvat hasn't cracked the scoresheet in two of the Islanders' four games so far, but when he's done it, he's made his presence felt. Horvat picked up his first two points of the season via helpers on two power-play goals. The 30-year-old center is locked into a top-six role for the Islanders and has been steady offensively, scoring 52-plus points in each of the last four seasons. His two power-play points are encouraging considering he had just seven power-play tallies a year ago. Horvat is averaging 4:14 TOI in power-play scenarios through two games this year and can elevate his fantasy value to the next level if he can integrate that aspect back into his game. Horvat should be rostered in all formats with the potential to be a 60-plus point player for the third time in four years with the Islanders.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Ready for camp
Horvat (ankle) will be available for the start of training camp, per Andrew Gross of Newsday on Monday.
Horvat sustained an ankle injury in May while playing for Canada at the 2025 IIHF World Championship. He told Rachel Luscher of the Islanders' official site in August that he felt great and ready for the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign. The Islanders announced Thursday that Horvat sustained an ankle injury at the 2025 IIHF World Championship and is expected to be good to go in 4-6 weeks.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Seven points in last seven games
Horvat had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Flyers on Saturday.
His goal was clutch -- he knotted the game 3-3 with 1:01 remaining in the third period to force overtime. Horvat is a tenacious guy, but his offense has dropped this season after delivering 71 goals and 148 points over the last two years. He currently has 27 goals and 56 points this campaign, but he does have seven points (three goals, four assists) across his last seven appearances. Like every other Islander, Horvat has had a meh season, so this run is a nice way to turn the page. He'll put it behind him in the offseason and bring a fresh aggression to 2025-26.

Overall, Horvat has 23 goals, 47 points and 205 shots on net in 67 appearances in 2024-25. He's been steady on offense over the past week with four points in his last four games. With the Islanders making a push for the playoffs, Horvat should see plenty of opportunities to contribute to the offense down the stretch. He has solid value in all fantasy formats.
