Islanders' Bo Horvat: Makes mark before ejection
Horvat scored his 13th goal of the season before getting ejected from Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Stars.
There were no penalties called in either of the first two periods, but tensions began to flare in the third after Horvat got a double-minor and game misconduct for high-sticking Oskar Back. The 30-year-old Horvat had already potted his team's second goal by that point, banging home a loose puck in front of Jake Oettinger just a few minutes before his ejection. Horvat is part of a massive second-place logjam atop the leaderboard in goals, one back of Nathan MacKinnon's 14, and he's been red-hot in November with six goals and 12 points in nine games.

This season, he's up to 12 goals, 10 assists, 57 shots on net and a plus-9 rating through 17 appearances. He's earned eight of his points on the power play, which is already better than his output with the man advantage last year (seven points).

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Two-point effort Monday
Horvat scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Devils.
The veteran center got the Islanders on the board early in the second period by snapping a shot past Jacob Markstrom to finish off an odd-man rush. Horvat is up to 12 goals on the season, two back of Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL lead, and his 20 points in 16 games paces the Isles by a healthy margin -- linemate Kyle Palmieri is tied with Mathew Barzal in second place with 13 points.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Finds twine twice
Horvat scored two goals, including one on the power play, and put five shots on net in Saturday's 5-0 shutout win over the Rangers.
Horvat tallied the opening goal midway through the first period before finding the back of the net on a power play late in the second. With Saturday's performance, Horvat extended his point streak to five games, and he has 18 points through 15 outings this year. The top-line center has 11 goals to start the year, which is tied for third in the league, behind only Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Montreal's Cole Caufield. It's early, but Horvat is on pace to easily surpass his career high of 70 points.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Now top-10 NHL goal scorer
Horvat scored two goals in a 4-3 shootout loss to Boston on Tuesday.
Horvat's nine goals this season put him on the NHL's top-10 snipers list. Yes, the top 10. Horvat has three 30-plus goal seasons, including a career-high 38 in 2022-23. His career mark in points (70) also came that regular season. Horvat has 15 points and 45 shots in 13 games this season -- that puts him on a career pace for goals (57), assists (95) and shots (283). Can he sustain it? Probably not, but he could still break his career mark, and there's plenty of value in that.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Helps out on power play
Horvat picked up a power-play assist and put two shots on net in Sunday's 3-2 win over Columbus.
Horvat played a hand in the career day for Matthew Schaefer as he assisted the young defenseman's first tally on a power play in the opening period. Overall, the 30-year-old Horvat has six assists, 13 points and 40 shots on net in 12 games this season. The Islanders' top-line center has at least one point in all but four of his appearances this year, putting him on the right track for a career-best season. Horvat has only reached the 70-point mark once, but with a plethora of solid goal-scoring options to join him on the top line at any point this season, he could reach that mark again.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Pair of points in loss
Horvat scored a goal on six shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins.
Horvat opened the scoring 1:08 into the game and assisted on a Kyle Palmieri tally just before the five-minute mark. Despite that hot start, Horvat and the Islanders weren't able to maintain momentum throughout the game. He has four multi-point efforts in nine outings this season, which gives him six goals and five assists in addition to 34 shots on net and a plus-6 rating. He's a valuable all-situation center and should continue to be productive for fantasy managers.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Scores hat trick Thursday
Horvat had a hat trick, including one goal with the man advantage, in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Oilers.
Horvat didn't score a goal in any of the Islanders' first three games of the season, but he ended that skid with a dominant performance. The 30-year-old opened his tally with a shorthanded goal late in the second period, and he'd later add a power-play marker and an empty-netter to round out the scoring. Horvat hasn't cracked the scoresheet in two of the Islanders' four games so far, but when he's done it, he's made his presence felt. Through four contests, the center has five points already -- with three of them coming on the power play.

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Plates pair of helpers
Horvat dished out two assists and had five shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Washington.
Horvat picked up his first two points of the season via helpers on two power-play goals. The 30-year-old center is locked into a top-six role for the Islanders and has been steady offensively, scoring 52-plus points in each of the last four seasons. His two power-play points are encouraging considering he had just seven power-play tallies a year ago. Horvat is averaging 4:14 TOI in power-play scenarios through two games this year and can elevate his fantasy value to the next level if he can integrate that aspect back into his game. Horvat should be rostered in all formats with the potential to be a 60-plus point player for the third time in four years with the Islanders.
