Hedman (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Panthers, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Hedman sustained an undisclosed injury during Friday's preseason game against Carolina, and he hasn't been seen on the ice since then. However, the Lightning hope that he'll be available for next Thursday's Opening Night matchup against the Senators. The 34-year-old made 79 regular-season appearances last year, racking up 15 goals, 51 assists, 133 blocked shots, 39 hits and 30 PIM while averaging 23:05 of ice time.

Hedman (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Tuesday's preseason game against the Panthers, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports.
Hedman exited Friday's preseason game versus the Hurricanes for precautionary reasons, and he'll be forced to miss a second consecutive exhibition matchup Tuesday. However, head coach Jon Cooper hinted Monday that he isn't too concerned about Hedman's status for the start of the regular season. Hedman likely wasn't going to play in Saturday's game anyway after leaving Friday's exhibition contest against Carolina early as a precaution. At 34 years old, a decline is likely drawing near, but Hedman's part of a strong offense and power-play unit. Lightning's Victor Hedman: Two power-play points in OT loss
Hedman scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
Both points came in the third period, with Hedman's tally midway through the frame being the one that forced overtime. It was the veteran blueliner's third multi-point performance in the last seven games, a stretch in which he's collected three goals and nine points.
