Kedric Golston: Visits with 49ers
Golston (hamstring) visited with the 49ers on Friday, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.
Golston, who opened the 2016 season as the Redskins' starting nose tackle but suffered a season-ending hamstring tear in Week 2, was medically cleared from the injury roughly two and a half weeks ago. This meeting with San Francisco marks the first free-agent visit of the offseason for the 33-year-old vet. The 49ers are beginning to construct a fearsome defensive line and Golston would, at the minimum, provide excellent depth and a strong veteran presence.

While it isn't clear how long it will take him to get back on the football field, Golston could have his pick among interested suitors if he can show teams his hamstring has fully recovered.

Redskins' Kedric Golston: Ready to play Monday night
Golston (back) was not listed on the Redskins' list of inactives prior to Monday's matchup with the Steelers.
He entered the contest listed as questionable to play, but was deemed healthy enough prior to kickoff. His availability bodes well for the Redskins' ability to defend against an impending matchup with DeAngelo Williams and the rest of the Steelers' up-tempo offense.

Redskins' Kedric Golston: Re-signs with Redskins
Golston re-signed with the Redskins on a one-year, $1.005 million deal Wednesday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
The veteran defensive lineman appeared in 15 games last season and will again provide depth up front for the Redskins in 2016. He may not step into a starting role, but with Jason Hatcher and Terrance Knighton no longer on the team, Golston could find himself in a slightly more prominent role this year especially if Washington is not aggressive in addressing their front in free agency and the draft.
