Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Green light to play Week 1
Tuipulotu (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.
Tuipulotu was limited in practice all week due to a hip injury, but the fourth-year pro has been cleared to play in Sunday's regular-season opener and will be the Chargers' second starting edge rusher opposite veteran Khalil Mack. Tuipulotu posted a career-high 13.0 sacks across 16 regular-season games in 2025.

Tuipulotu was limited in practice all week, though it's unclear when he suffered the injury. Entering the final year of his rookie deal, the 24-year-old edge rusher was held out of camp early last month as he was seeking an extension. Tuipulotu is still recovering from a hip injury he suffered during the preseason. The linebacker's designation as limited in Wednesday's first official practice is a good sign for his eligibility for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Cardinals. The 24-year-old will likely need to log two more practices, preferably full, to be cleared and ready to suit up for the contest.

Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Limited due to contract dispute
Tuipulotu did not participate in team drills Monday due his ongoing negotiations on an extension, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
The outside linebacker continues to hold in as he seeks a contract extension following a stellar 13.0-sack tally over 16 regular-season games in 2025. While Tuipulotu remains off the practice field, rookie Akheem Mesidor continues to gain valuable first-team reps at edge. Even if Mesidor impresses with the additional opportunties, Tuipulotu doesn't figure to lose any leverage considering his upside and the fact fellow linebacker Khalil Mack may well be playing out his final season.

Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Caps off season with another sack
Tuipulotu record two tackles (two solo) and 1.0 sacks in the 16-3 wild-card loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
In one of the biggest breakouts of the entire 2025 season, the third-year pass rusher built upon his excellent campaign with a first-half sack of Drake Maye. The 2023 second-round pick had quietly become one of the team's most important players last year, but Tuipulotu took it to another level (13.0 sacks) in his third season, emerging as easily the team's most consistent pass rusher even despite Khalil Mack missing five games this year. The 24-year-old will enter the final year of his rookie contract next year and figures to be a candidate for a massive extension this offseason.

Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Adds to sack total in Week 16 win
Tuipulotu registered four tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, and a fumble recovery during the Chargers' 34-17 win over the Cowboys on Sunday.
Tuipulotu got to Dak Prescott for a six-yard sack on the final play of the first half, and the former scooped up his first fumble of the season late in the fourth. Tuipulotu has accumulated 5.0 sacks across the four games since the Chargers' Week 12 bye, and his 13.0 sacks (across 15 regular-season games) are tied with Danielle Hunter for third most in the NFL behind Myles Garrett (22.0) and Brian Burns (15.0). Tuipulotu will look to add to his total against the Texans on Saturday, who are dealing with injuries to starting offensive tackles Aireontae Ersery (hand) and Trent Brown (knee).
