New Orleans waived Alford (undisclosed) off injured reserve Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Alford was waived/injured due to an undisclosed issue in mid-June. He subsequently reverted to IR, meaning he was slated to miss the 2026 season, but New Orleans has moved on from him for now. As such, Alford will be free to sign with another club and suit up during the coming campaign if he's able to return to health.
