Thomas had his best game of the season in Week 5 against the Chiefs with four catches for 80 yards on six targets, and he scored 12 PPR points. This is where we are now with Thomas, and hopefully we're not settling for 12 PPR points on a weekly basis. He's yet to catch a touchdown, and he's been held to fewer than 50 receiving yards in three of five games. The Seahawks are No. 12 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and Seattle's secondary should be able to keep Thomas in check once again. He's only worth starting in three-receiver leagues in Week 6.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Team-high yardage total in win
Rotowire
Thomas secured four of six targets for 80 yards in the Jaguars' 31-28 win over the Chiefs on Monday night.
Thomas finished as the Jaguars' leader in receptions, receiving yards and targets, holding the top spot in the middle category for the second consecutive week. His final catch of the night was the most critical, as he recorded a 33-yard grab on Jacksonville's game-winning drive and then drew a pass interference penalty that wiped out an interception four plays later. Thomas' yardage tally was also a new season high for the second-year wideout, who's yet to have his first true breakout effort in head coach Liam Coen's offense but has put together his two best all-around performances this season in the last pair of contests. Thomas will take a 16-244-0 line into a Week 6 home matchup against a Seahawks squad that just conceded a 163-yard, one-touchdown day to the Buccaneers' Emeka Egbuka on Sunday.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr.: WRs to Sit
Rotowire
Thomas had one of his better outings of the season in Week 4 at San Francisco, but he's still only worth starting in three-receiver leagues in Week 5 against the Chiefs. Against the 49ers, Thomas had a season-high five catches, but he only managed 49 yards on seven targets. He's yet to catch a touchdown, and 10.6 PPR points is his season high. Kansas City hasn't allowed a receiver to catch a touchdown since Week 1, including matchups with Philadelphia, the Giants (when Malik Nabers was healthy) and Baltimore. I don't have high hopes for Thomas in this matchup.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Leading receiver in win
Rotowire
Thomas finished with five receptions on seven targets for 49 yards while adding seven rushing yards on one carry in Sunday's 26-21 win over San Francisco.
Thomas finished as the Jaguars' leading receiver in another low-volume passing day from Trevor Lawrence (21-for-31, 174 yards, one TD). The 22-year-old wideout gained seven yards on his second rushing attempt of the season, but he was unable to reproduce the trip to the end zone from his first attempt back in Week 1. The positive takeaway from this matchup was Thomas posting his first catch rate north of 50 percent (71.4) after suffering a bad case of the drops over his previous three contests. Thomas will attempt to carry over the confidence from this solid showing into next Monday's primetime matchup against Kansas City.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr.: Sleepers (Start/Sit)
Rotowire
I hope Thomas isn't a bust for the season, and I'd love to be wrong on this prediction. But you can only start Thomas in three-receiver leagues right now, and something is off with his play heading into Week 4 at San Francisco. The targets have been there for Thomas in the first three games of the season since he's averaging 8.3 per game. But he's combined for seven catches for 115 yards and no receiving touchdowns, and he's failed to score more than 9.0 PPR points in any game this year. The 49ers are without star pass rusher Nick Bosa, which should help the entire passing game for the Jaguars, but Thomas just looks off and is not a slam-dunk starter in the majority of leagues.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr.: Contrarian DFS Play
Rotowire
After reading the intro to the wide receiver preview, you had to know this was coming. Thomas is flat-out overpriced based on his production, but not based on his target volume. No one is going to want to play him. That makes him a great contrarian play. The 49ers defense continues to suffer injuries, with Nick Bosa's ACL being the most recent. This game has shootout potential if Lawrence and Thomas can get on the same page. I simply refuse to believe the Monstars stole all of the 22-year-old's talents.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Provides splash play in win
Rotowire
Thomas secured two of six targets for 55 yards in the Jaguars' 17-10 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Thomas endured another lackluster afternoon on a day when Trevor Lawrence continued to struggle with play-to-play consistency. However, the talented second-year wideout still managed to finish second in receiving yards on the afternoon for Jacksonville courtesy of a critical and team-long 46-yard catch with two minutes remaining to set up a game-winning 10-yard touchdown run by Travis Etienne on the next play. While the noteworthy reception propped up Thomas' fantasy day to an extent, he'll still take just a 7-115-1 line on 25 targets through three games into a Week 4 road matchup against the 49ers next Sunday.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Limited at practice Thursday
Rotowire
Thomas (wrist) was limited at practice Thursday.
Thomas was deemed a full participant Wednesday, so his limited session a day later is notable. However, it's possible that the listing is indicative of rep management as opposed to a setback, with Friday's final injury report slated to add further context regarding Thomas' availability for Sunday's game against the Texans, either way.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Logs full practice
Rotowire
Thomas (wrist) practiced fully Wednesday.
Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union previously reported that coach Liam Coen acknowledged Monday that Thomas approached Week 2 action with a wrist injury, but the wideout still managed to record a 94 percent snap share in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Bengals. With a full practice under his belt Wednesday, Thomas is slated to face the Texans this weekend and in the process maintain his key role in the Jaguars passing attack. Through two games to date, Thomas has been targeted 19 times (including 12 times versus Cincinnati) but has caught just five passes for 60 yards in that span. While the 2024 first-rounder's slow start is mildly concerning, assuming he's not hampered by his wrist issue, a spike in production and efficiency seems inevitable for the talented 22-year-old, who compiled a 87/1,282/10 receiving line (on 133 targets) in 17 regular-season games last year.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Played through wrist injury Week 2
Rotowire
Jaguars coach Liam Coen said Monday that Thomas entered Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Bengals nursing a wrist injury, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Thomas wasn't listed on Jacksonville's injury report leading up to Sunday's loss, so his wrist injury could have been sustained over the weekend. An injury would somewhat explain Thomas' inefficiency versus Cincinnati, as he secured just four of 12 targets for 49 yards during the narrow loss and at times seemed to visibly shy away from contact. Coen said Thomas "knows he needs to have a great week of practice," per Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville radio, so fantasy managers will need to monitor whether the Year 2 wideout is listed on Wednesday's first injury report of Week 3 ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Texans.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Inefficient in Week 2 loss
Rotowire
Thomas secured four of 12 targets for 49 yards in the Jaguars' 31-27 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
For the second time in as many games to open the new season, the Trevor Lawrence-Thomas connection was in less than optimal form. The star wideout led the Jaguars in targets by a wide margin, but he was only third in receiving yards despite the abundance of opportunities. Thomas also saw Trevor Lawrence's trio of TD passes go to No. 3 receiver Dyami Brown and running backs Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten, leading to another lackluster afternoon. Thomas' next opportunity to snap out of his early-season doldrums comes in a Week 3 home divisional matchup against the Texans.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Finds end zone in tough day
Rotowire
Thomas caught one of seven targets for 11 yards and took his only carry nine yards for a touchdown in Sunday's 26-10 win over the Panthers.
It was a frustrating start to his second NFL season for Thomas, but he salvaged his day with a TD on an end-around in the second quarter. Better days will be ahead for the LSU product as the Jaguars adjust to new coach Liam Coen's scheme, but the 1-11-0 line is already worse than Thomas had in any game as a rookie. He'll look for bigger volume and better production on the road Week 2 against the Bengals.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Four targets in two possessions
Rotowire
Thomas caught two of four targets for eight yards in Sunday's 17-17 preseason tie against the Saints. He also rushed once for two yards.
Thomas played two drives and worked as the top target for Trevor Lawrence over that span, especially in the absence of rookie wide receiver Travis Hunter (upper body). Expectations for Thomas are sky high after a 1,282-yard, 10-touchdown rookie regular season. The Jaguars will wrap up preseason play with a trip to Miami on Saturday.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Plays briefly in preseason opener
Rotowire
Thomas recorded one reception on two targets for eight yards in Saturday's 31-25 preseason loss to the Steelers.
Like most of Jacksonville's top skill-position players, Thomas played on the first offensive possession before sitting out the rest of the game. He accounted for Trevor Lawrence's first completion of the game, though his most noteworthy moment of the contest came four plays later, when he was hit hard by Juan Thornhill while trying to make a catch. Thomas came away unscathed, and it remains to be seen if he'll suit up for any additional preseason contests.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Back at practice Thursday
Rotowire
Thomas (illness) returned to practice Thursday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Thomas missed Wednesday's session due to an illness but was back one day later, giving him an opportunity to log some practice reps ahead of Saturday's preseason opener against the Steelers. Per Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville, coach Liam Coen indicated Thursday that he has no plans for any of his healthy players to sit out the contest, but it remains to be seen how much action key players such as Thomas will see this weekend.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Returns to practice
Rotowire
Thomas (shoulder) was a full practice participant Thursday, SI.com's John Shipley reports.
He returned for the final offseason practice after exiting early a day before. With the shoulder injury confirmed to minor, Thomas should be a full go for the start of training camp, where he'll look to build on a phenomenal rookie season in which he caught 87 passes for 1,282 yards and 10 TDs on 133 targets. The Jaguars have a new coaching staff, led by Liam Coen, and a new-look WR room with Travis Hunter and Dyami Brown replacing Christian Kirk (Texans) and Gabe Davis (free agent).

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Locked in as focal point
Rotowire
New Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said the team's passing game will run through Thomas, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
That much is clear; the real question is who else will catch passes from Trevor Lawrence on a regular basis. WR Christian Kirk (collarbone) and TE Evan Engram (shoulder) both are entering contract years without any guaranteed money remaining on their contracts, and WR Gabe Davis (knee) is coming off a disappointing season that ended early due to a meniscus tear. Thomas may be at the level already where competition doesn't really matter and teammates are competing with each other for targets rather than him. He closed 2024 with one of the most productive stretches ever seen from a rookie wide receiver while catching passes from backup QB Mac Jones, posting six straight games with at least 10 targets and 76 yards while averaging 7.5 receptions for 99.8 yards and 0.83 TDs. Similar output over the course of a full season is unlikely even for a player with Thomas' rare combination of size, speed and agility, but it isn't entirely out of the question under Coen, whose lone year as Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator coincided with the top PPR scoring average of Chris Godwin's career (19.7 per game) as well as Mike Evans' best average (17.2) since 2019.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr.: Top DFS Play
Rotowire
At wide receiver this week we don't have Ja'Marr Chase, Puka Nacua, or Nico Collins available in DFS. Thankfully, we have the guy who has outscored all of them the past two weeks in Brian Thomas. Thomas has 19 catches for 237 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games as he makes his push for OROY. He has four straight games with double-digit targets including 12 the last time he faced Tennessee.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Tops 1,000 receiving yards
Rotowire
Thomas recorded nine receptions on 13 targets for 132 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-14 loss to the Raiders.
Thomas continued to see excellent volume with Mac Jones under center, with Sunday's performance marking his fourth straight with double-digit targets. He also continued to deliver splash plays, the highlight being a 62-yard catch and run into the end zone late in the third quarter. Thomas now has at least 76 receiving yards in all four games since Jacksonville's Week 12 bye while finding the end zone a total of four times. The performance also put him over 1,000 yards for the campaign.

Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr.: WRs to Start
Rotowire
It would be more ideal for Thomas if Trevor Lawrence (concussion) was starting for the Jaguars, but Mac Jones has been good for Thomas in the past two games. Against Detroit and Houston, Thomas has combined for nine catches, 158 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets, and he scored at least 13.6 PPR points in each outing. Four receivers have scored at least 14.1 PPR points against Tennessee in the past three games, so Thomas is worth starting as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. I also like Parker Washington as a sleeper, and he just had six catches for 103 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets in Week 13 against Houston.
