Lions' Thomas Gordon: Gets future deal with Detroit
The Lions signed Gordon to a reserve/future contract Thursday.
Gordon spent most of the regular season without a team before catching on with the Bears as a member of the practice squad in late December. With a future contract, the undrafted rookie out of Northwestern will be on the Lions' 90-man roster when the offseason officially kicks off Feb. 9, which will allow him to participate in OTAs and minicamp.

Thomas Gordon: Returning to Windy City
The Bears signed Gordon to the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Gordon joined the Bears in early August as an undrafted free agent but was unable to crack the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He'll return to Chicago as a member of the team's practice squad and provide additional depth at tight end.

The Bears waived Gordon on Sunday.
Gordon played in the Bears' first two preseason games but failed to record a catch across those two contests. Once he clears waivers, the Northwestern product will explore his next options and attempt to catch on with a team in need of tight end depth.
