Max Brosmer: Signs with Minnesota's practice squad
The Vikings signed Brosmer to the practice squad Wednesday, Rob Kleifield reports.
Brosmer made the Vikings' initial 53-man roster before being waived on Monday. The quarterback cleared waivers and will now serve as additional depth to Kyler Murray, J.J. McCarthy (ankle) and Carson Wentz on the practice squad instead of the active roster.

Max Brosmer: Let go by Minnesota
The Vikings waived Brosmer on Monday, Ian Rapoport of ESPN and NFL Network reports.
Brosmer is the odd man out in Minnesota, with J.J. McCarthy (ankle) and Carson Wentz serving as the depth options at quarterback behind starter Kyler Murray. Brosmer could stay in Minnesota on the practice squad if he clears waivers, though he may opt to take his talents elsewhere. He appeared in seven regular-season games (two starts) for the Vikings in 2025, completing 66.2 percent of his passes for 328 yards, zero touchdowns and four interceptions while turning seven carries into 11 yards.

Vikings' Max Brosmer: Throws interception vs. Baltimore
Brosmer completed 11 of 17 passes for 98 yards and an interception while logging a four-yard carry during the Vikings' 13-3 preseason loss to the Ravens on Saturday.
Brosmer ended up seeing additional playing time as the Vikings' third quarterback in the game after J.J. McCarthy left early due to an undisclosed injury. Brosmer was under center for the entire second half and led an 11-play, 57-yard drive into Ravens territory in the fourth quarter, but the drive ended after this short throw for Terrill Davis was picked off by Silas Walters. McCarthy and Carson Wentz are battling for the backup job behind starter Kyler Murray, and Brosmer will likely be on the Vikings' practice squad to open the regular season. Minnesota's preseason finale takes place Friday on the road against Denver.

Vikings' Max Brosmer: Slated for imaging on thumb
Brosmer exited Saturday's preseason win over the Giants due to a right thumb injury, which he's expected to get imaging for, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Brosmer suffered the injury when his hand got hit on his final throw of the third quarter. Coach Kevin O'Connell explained after the game that the team "wanted to be smart" about addressing the issue despite Brosmer wanting to re-enter the contest. O'Connell also said that Brosmer will get imaging on the thumb, and results of those tests should provide clarity about whether the QB will be able to play in Minnesota's next preseason game, which is set for next Saturday versus Baltimore.
