  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Out at least five weeks

Strange (quadriceps) is expected to miss at least five weeks due to a quadriceps and hip injury that includes a ligament tear, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports. Strange already was facing an absence of at least four weeks after being placed on injured reserve Tuesday, so this update doesn't significantly change his return timeline, though it provides clarity on the nature of his injury. Schultz adds that Strange isn't expected to need surgery on the injury the tight end suffered in Monday's win over Kansas City.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Heads to IR with quad issue

The Jaguars placed Strange on injured reserve Tuesday due to a quadriceps injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Strange sustained what the Jaguars had previously labeled as a hip injury with just over four minutes remaining in the first half of Monday's 31-28 win over the Chiefs, resulting in his early exit from the contest. After undergoing further testing, Strange has now been diagnosed with a quad issue that will keep him out multiple games, though Garafolo relays that the Jaguars anticipate that the tight end has avoided a season-ending injury and will be able to return in around a month. Despite playing just 22 snaps in Monday's win, Strange leads the Jaguars with 20 catches through five games and has produced 204 receiving yards and no touchdowns. His absence should open up more opportunities at tight end for Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Ruled out against Chiefs

Strange has been ruled out from returning to Monday's game against the Chiefs, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Strange suffered the injury in the first half, and he was briefly checked in the medical tent and spotted riding a stationary bike. He never appeared close to returning thereafter, as he was seen on the sideline without his helmet to begin the second half. The severity of the injury is not yet clear.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Dealing with hip injury

Strange is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Chiefs due to a hip injury, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Strange made one catch for 22 yards in the first half, good for second on the team. The severity of the injury is unclear, though his absence would leave a significant void in the Jacksonville offense if he cannot return. Strange was spotted on the sideline without a helmet to start the third quarter.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Week 6 Waiver Priority List

I'll update this post after Monday night's game against the Chiefs, but Strange went into Week 5 having scored at least 10.5 PPR points in each of his past two games against Houston and San Francisco. In Week 6, Strange gets a fantastic matchup against the Seahawks, who are No. 3 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends. He's worth adding in all leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Sleeper TEs

In his past two games against Houston and San Francisco, Strange has combined for 12 catches for 106 yards on 14 targets, and he scored at least 10.5 PPR points in each outing. He has a difficult matchup in Week 5 against Kansas City, but the Chiefs just allowed Mark Andrews to catch seven passes for 30 yards on eight targets in Week 4. Strange should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

In his past two games against Houston and San Francisco, Strange has combined for 12 catches for 106 yards on 14 targets, and he scored at least 10.5 PPR points in each outing. He has a difficult matchup in Week 5 against Kansas City, but the Chiefs just allowed Mark Andrews to catch seven passes for 30 yards on eight targets in Week 4. Strange should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Week 5 Streamers (TE Preview)

Strange probably has the highest floor on the waiver wire this week. He's scored at least 9.9 PPR Fantasy points in three of four games, and he doesn't have a touchdown yet. He has 14 targets in his last two games combined. The Chiefs have given up very little to opposing tight ends, but Mark Andrews is the closest thing they have faced to a good tight end.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Week 5 Waiver Priority List

Strange has been a solid, low-end starter for the past two weeks, and he is worth adding in all leagues for at least 5 percent of your remaining FAB. In his past two games against Houston and San Francisco, Strange has combined for 12 catches for 106 yards on 14 targets, and he scored at least 10.5 PPR points in each outing. He has a difficult matchup in Week 5 against Kansas City, but Strange should continue to be a reliable weapon for Trevor Lawrence and a good source of production for Fantasy managers in need of a tight end.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Leads team with six receptions

Strange brought in six of seven targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 26-21 win over the 49ers. Strange finished in a tie with Brian Thomas for the lead in team targets while leading his club in receptions in a solid overall effort. The 24-year-old tight end has produced 19 receptions for 182 yards through four starts, well ahead of his pace across 17 games last season (40-411-2). Strange has quietly entered the fantasy conversation at a shallow position as the Jaguars prepare to face Kansas City on Monday Night Football in Week 5.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Week 4 Waiver Priority List

Strange had his best game of the season in Week 3 against Houston with six catches for 61 yards on seven targets. He's now scored at least 9.9 PPR points in two of three games this season, and he's averaging six targets per game in his past two outings against the Bengals and Texans. Strange should be considered a streamer heading into Week 4 at San Francisco, and he's worth adding in all leagues for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Season-best effort in win

Strange brought in six of seven targets for 61 yards in the Jaguars' 17-10 win over the Texans on Sunday. Strange led the Jaguars in both receptions and receiving yards on the afternoon with figures that also qualified as season highs for the third-year tight end. Strange has at least four targets in each of the first three games as he takes over what was a high-volume role during Evan Engram's tenure with the team. The 2023 second-round pick appears to have burgeoning chemistry with the inconsistent Trevor Lawrence, and Strange could once again serve as a key target when Lawrence tries to navigate an aggressive 49ers defense in a Week 4 road matchup next Sunday.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Limited to three catches in Week 2

Strange secured three of five targets for 17 yads during Sunday's 31-27 loss to Cincinnati. Strange again operated as Jacksonville's clear No. 1 tight end, playing 90 percent of offensive snaps, but it was wideouts Dyami Brown (5-57-1) and Parker Washington (5-76-0) who stepped up in the receiving game with both Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter held in check for a second straight week. Strange has drawn nine targets through two weeks, enough volume to put him on the radar as a back-end TE1 for fantasy purposes heading into a Week 3 matchup against the Texans.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

The matchup for Strange is great since the Bengals struggled against tight ends in 2024 and got abused by the Browns in Week 1 when Harold Fannin Jr. and David Njoku combined for 10 catches for 100 yards on 15 targets. Strange got off to a good start in Week 1 with four catches for 59 yards on four targets, and he should continue to be a go-to option for Trevor Lawrence in this potential shootout. I like Strange as a low-end starter in all leagues.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

Strange got off to a good start in Week 1 against Carolina with four catches for 59 yards on four targets. We expect more production from Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter moving forward for the Jaguars, but Strange could be the No. 3 option in the passing game and prove to be a useful Fantasy tight end in deeper formats. He's worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB heading into a great matchup in Week 2 against the Bengals.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Leading receiver in Week 1 win

Strange caught all four of his targets for a team-high 59 yards in Sunday's 26-10 win over the Panthers. The third-year tight end finished second on the Jaguars in receptions to rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter, but Strange not only led the team in receiving yardage, he was on the other end of Trevor Lawrence's longest completion of the day, a 24-yard toss on the opening drive to help set up a Cam Little field goal. Strange set career-best numbers in 2024 while working behind Evan Engram, but with Engram now in Denver, Strange could be poised for a true breakout in 2025. He'll look to build on Sunday's performance on the road in Week 2 against the Bengals.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Sleeper TEs

The Panthers led the NFL in tight end receiving touchdowns last season with 11, and Strange should be a popular target for Trevor Lawrence in this matchup and all year. Lawrence is one of my favorite quarterbacks in Week 1, and I'm expecting Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, and Strange to all have the chance to make plenty of plays.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Quick preseason appearance

Strange recorded one reception on one target for 11 yards in Saturday's 31-25 preseason loss to the Steelers. Strange played one offensive possession with the Jaguars' starting skill-position unit and hauled in his only target over the middle of the field. The offseason departure of Evan Engram leaves Strange as the clear top tight end on the depth chart, though it may be hard for him to be a consistent fantasy contributor due to target competition from the likes of Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: TEs to Sit

There were high expectations for Strange after his Week 15 outing against the Jets when he had 11 catches for 73 yards on 12 targets. But in two games since then against Las Vegas and Tennessee, Strange has combined for two catches for 22 yards on five targets, and there's no way to trust him in Week 18 against the Colts. It's a great matchup since Indianapolis is No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, but he might not get a catch again like he did against the Titans in Week 17.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Cleared for Sunday

Strange (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans after practicing fully Friday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports. Strange was deemed limited on practice reports Wednesday and Thursday, but the tight end's full session Friday paves the way for him to suit up versus Tennessee. With Evan Engram (shoulder) on IR, Strange is in line to remain a key target for QB Mac Jones over his team's last two games this season. After racking up 11 catches for 73 yards on 12 targets in Week 15 against the Jets, Strange turned in a 2-22-0 effort on four targets in a 19-14 loss to the Raiders last weekend. In his current key role in the Jaguars offense, he merits consideration in Week 17 fantasy lineups.
