  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Logs full practice Wednesday

Harvey (ribs) practiced fully Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Harvey sustained a rib injury late in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Packers, a game in which the running back logged 19 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. Per Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post, head coach Sean Payton noted earlier Wednesday that Harvey was "doing good" in his recovery from the rib injury and implied that he had no concerns on that front. With a full practice in the books confirming that notion, Harvey is slated to maintain his lead role out of the backfield this weekend against the 10-4 Jaguars, who have surrendered league-low average of 86.3 rushing yards per game.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Should be fine to play

Broncos coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that he isn't worried about Harvey's rib injury, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports. Harvey missed the final few snaps of Sunday's 34-26 win over Green Bay after suffering a rib injury late in the fourth quarter. He's practicing Wednesday, with Payton suggesting afterward that the recent signing of RB Cody Schrader is unrelated to Harvey's injury, per Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com. The Broncos seemingly expect their rookie RB to start again this Sunday against Jacksonville, following back-to-back games with a 68 percent snap share and 17-plus carries. Harvey did lose a fumble this past Sunday, but Payton attributed it to a great defensive play and said there was no issue with the way Harvey was carrying the ball. In other words, Harvey should be busy again this Sunday, so long as he overcomes the rib injury and continues practicing this week.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Present for practice Wednesday

Harvey (ribs) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports. Harvey, who recorded a 68 percent snap share in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Packers en route to carrying 19 times for 65 yards and a touchdown, emerged from the contest with a rib issue. With that in mind, the running back's presence at practice Wednesday is a positive sign ahead of this weekend's game against the Jaguars, with the Broncos' upcoming injury report destined to provide his official participation level in the session.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Managing rib injury

Harvey didn't return to Sunday's 34-26 win over the Packers after sustaining a rib injury on his final carry with 6:31 remaining in the fourth quarter, Jon Heath of USA Today reports. Denver had labeled Harvey as questionable to return following the two-minute warning, but the rookie tailback ultimately didn't check back into the game for any of the Broncos' final four offensive plays. Head coach Sean Payton didn't provide many details on Harvey's health following the contest, but the Broncos' decision to claim another running back (Cody Schrader) off waivers from the Texans on Monday could be an indication that Harvey is dealing with more than a minor injury concern. Denver will hold its first Week 16 practice Wednesday, when more information should be available regarding Harvey's status for Sunday's game against Jacksonville.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Reaches end zone again

Harvey rushed the ball 19 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Packers. He did not catch his only target. Harvey got off to a tough start, as he fumbled on Denver's opening possession and his third touch of the game. He was benched for the team's next possession, though he was the team's lead back from there and managed a season-high carry total. As has been the case for most of his rookie season, Harvey wasn't efficient, with his longest gain of the night going for only eight yards. However, he did manage to punch in a four-yard rushing score late in the contest, his third straight game reaching the end zone. With J.K. Dobbins (foot) still likely to be sidelined for the foreseeable future, Harvey's role as the lead back looks secure, and he has a minimum of 16 touches in each of his last three games.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Racks up 100 yards plus TD

Harvey took 17 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown while hauling in all six of his targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over Las Vegas. Harvey continued his recent success as Denver's lead back with a return trip to the end zone after scoring twice on the ground in Week 13. The second-round rookie took full advantage of the soft defensive matchup by cracking the century mark in yards from scrimmage for the first time in his promising career. Harvey made his mark primarily as a receiving back earlier this season, but he is getting an opportunity to flash his all-around game due to J.K. Dobbins (foot) being on injured reserve. Harvey should be viewed as a starting option in standard fantasy formats for next Sunday's tilt against the Packers.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: RBs to Start

Harvey came through as the Start of the Week in Week 13 at Washington with 21.2 PPR points, but how he got there wasn't ideal. He had 13 carries for 35 yards and three catches for 27 yards on four targets, but thankfully he scored two touchdowns, including one in overtime. Harvey once again dominated playing time for the second game in a row without J.K. Dobbins (foot), and that should continue in Week 14 against the Raiders. And Las Vegas has allowed four running backs in the past two games against Cleveland and the Chargers to score at least 11.4 PPR points, with five touchdowns. I like Harvey as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in the majority of leagues.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Bounces back with two scores on SNF

Harvey ran the ball 13 times for 35 yards and two touchdowns while corralling three of four targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 27-26 overtime win over the Commanders. Harvey finished as the star of Sunday Night Football after giving Denver its third lead in a back-and-forth contest with his first trip to the end zone in the third quarter, following that up with a second touchdown in overtime that wound up being the game-deciding score. The second-round rookie fared better this time around compared to his last outing starting in place of J.K. Dobbins (foot), when he handled a similar workload but failed to hit pay dirt against the Chiefs on Nov. 16. Harvey has registered double-digit carries in consecutive contests for the first time in his career, a trend that figures to continue while he operates as Denver's No. 1 backfield option. The 24-year-old is shaping up to be a strong fantasy play against the lowly Raiders in Week 14.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Start of the Week

RJ Harvey failed to make a significant impact in his first start in place of J.K. Dobbins (foot) in Week 11 against Kansas City with 11 carries for 30 yards and three catches for 20 yards on three targets, but that was a tough matchup. Harvey led the backfield in snaps at 61 percent, which is what we wanted to see, and now he should have a better outing in Week 13 at Washington. The Commanders are No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and eight guys have scored at least 13 PPR points against Washington this season, including seven of the past eight games. I'm excited to see what Harvey can do in this matchup, and I like him as a top-15 Fantasy running back in all leagues.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Set for RB1 role with Dobbins out

Harvey is set to lead the Broncos backfield Sunday against the Chiefs due to J.K. Dobbins (foot) being ruled out for the contest. Dobbins emerged from last Thursday's win against the Raiders with a foot injury, and as of Tuesday, a move to injured reserve was considered a possibility for the sixth-year pro, per Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette. After Dobbins was ruled out for Week 11 action Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the running back was in line to be out for an extended period. Harvey has recorded 10 or more touches in a game only once so far in his career (18 in Week 4), but the rookie second-round pick has impressed at times, averaging 4.3 yards on his 43 rushes, gathering in 25 of 29 targets for 175 yards and scoring six TDs in 10 appearances. Tyler Badie and Jaleel McLaughlin are the other RBs on Denver's active roster.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Harvey comes into Week 10 against the Raiders having scored a touchdown in three games in a row, with five total touchdowns over that span. Can he keep the scoring streak alive? He's been more involved in the passing game lately with at least four catches in two of his past four games. And in Denver's two blowout victories at home this season in Week 4 against Cincinnati and Week 8 against Dallas, Harvey saw at least eight total touches in both outings. The Broncos are nearly a touchdown favorite on Thursday night, and I plan to use Harvey as a flex option in all leagues. Hopefully, he'll find the end zone once again.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Scores three times in Week 8 win

Harvey carried the ball seven times for 42 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 44-24 win over the Cowboys, and he hauled in his only target for a five-yard touchdown. Harvey scored on the ground via 40- and 1-yard carries, the first two rushing touchdowns of his NFL career, while adding a third receiving score to his season totals. Meanwhile, top running back J.K. Dobbins rushed for 111 yards on 15 carries and caught both of his targets for 10 yards. While Dobbins remains the lead backfield option for Denver, continued impressive performances on Harvey's part could allow his usage to steadily grow as the 2025 campaign continues. The rookie second-round pick will work to keep up his momentum Week 9 on the road versus Houston.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Shows off explosiveness

Harvey rushed six times for 70 yards in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Titans. He added one reception on one target for -1 yards. Harvey alternated drives with J.K. Dobbins for most of the first half, though the Broncos relied heavily on Dobbins down the stretch to secure a victory in positive game script. The end result was that Harvey was out-touched 18-7 by Dobbins, but Harvey still managed to show off his explosiveness on a 50-yard run early in the fourth quarter, which ultimately set up a Dobbins score. While Harvey looks to be the second back in Denver for the time being, he still has a clear role in the offense and could see that expand if he continues to prove himself as a pro.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Four touches in preseason start

Harvey started the Broncos' 28-19 preseason win over the Saints on Saturday afternoon and rushed three times for four yards while securing his only target for one yard. Harvey was the first running back to record a carry, and he was in on Denver's first three possessions overall with the rest of the first-team offense. The rookie second-round pick got some solid work in during preseason, finishing Denver's three-game exhibition slate with a 13-47 rushing line and three receptions for seven yards on four targets. Harvey heads into his first NFL season set to operate in tandem with veteran J.K. Dobbins atop the Broncos' running back depth chart.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Listed fifth on depth chart

Harvey is listed fifth on Denver's initial preseason depth chart even though he's been repping as the No. 2 RB in practice, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. Multiple Denver beat writers have noted that coach Sean Payton almost always puts rookies at the bottom of the depth chart. Reports out of practice tell a different story than what's printed, with J.K. Dobbins atop the rotation and Harvey typically the second man up. The real question is how work will be split between the two come Week 1, although there is some chance Jaleel McLaughlin or one of the other depth backs poaches a few touches here and there. While Harvey is the clear choice in terms of explosiveness at this point in their respective careers, Dobbins has experience as an NFL starter and a solid reputation for pass blocking. That's seemingly enough to make Dobbins a favorite for the Week 1 start, even if Harvey remains the more attractive fantasy asset for the season-long haul.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Impressing in camp

Harvey has drawn praise early in camp, impressing Denver's coaching staff with his explosiveness and speed, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. With padded practices underway, Harvey has turned heads with his ability to maintain speed while making quick cuts to avoid defenders. After Tuesday's practice, head coach Sean Payton highlighted a play the rookie running back made during the session, saying Harvey "had a run today that was something, and we kind of turned and looked at each other." The UCF product demonstrated great decision-making on his way to multiple big gains. Harvey has even showed a willingness to step up into oncoming pressure in protection, though Payton noted that this will be an area of his game that needs growth. "For him, specifically, the protections, the speed of the game...there's that learning curve for all young players. Some of it happens a little quicker than others, but he's doing exceptional," Payton said. According to Kosmider, the 24-year-old Harvey and veteran J.K. Dobbins have routinely taken the bulk of snaps with the Broncos' first-team offense. Though the presence of Dobbins likely caps Harvey's potential as a true workhorse back, his continued development could lead to a bigger share of the backfield workload based on Denver's need for explosiveness in the ground game.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Gets backfield competition

Harvey has new backfield competition with the Broncos having agreed to terms with J.K. Dobbins on a one-year, $5.25 million contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Dobbins offers more experience than Audric Estime or Jaleel McLaughlin, with the 26-year-old having racked up 1,058 scrimmage yards and nine total touchdowns across 13 regular-season appearances with the Chargers in 2024 -- a tremendous rebound after three consecutive injury-riddled years in Baltimore. While Dobbins' impressive comeback year shouldn't be discounted, he still missed four games due to an MCL sprain and faded down the stretch. His 4.6 YPC on the season was buoyed by a strong start, as from Week 3 on he managed just 3.8 YPC. Harvey's impressive athleticism, 4.40 speed and status as a second-round pick still makes him likely to see a significant role out of the gate, and coach Sean Payton's offenses have a history of supporting two fantasy-viable RBs at a time. Nonetheless, the arrival of Dobbins makes it harder to project the rookie as a workhorse for the Broncos in 2025.
