Mitchell is int he league's concussion protocol and won't be available for Sunday's AFC East tilt, leaving the Dolphins with less depth on the offensive line. His next chance to play is Week 8 against the Raiders on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Mitchell is re-signing with the Jets as a depth piece on the offensive line. The 26-year-old has spent all four of his previous NFL seasons with New York, starting in 17 total games in his career.

Jets' Max Mitchell: Exits game with shoulder injury
Mitchell is questionable to return to Saturday's preseason game against the Giants after sustaining a shoulder injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Mitchell had been dealing with the shoulder injury early in the game before exiting in the second quarter, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. Mitchell played in 14 games (including seven starts) for the Jets last season, and he is currently slated as the backup right tackle on the depth chart behind Morgan Moses.
