Cota spent the first half of August with the Browns before being waived Aug. 13. He's back with the organization ahead of Cleveland's preseason finale against the Rams on Saturday.

The Browns waived Cota on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cota caught on with the Browns in late July, but he'll be on the lookout to join a new team assuming he clears waivers. He has not seen NFL regular-season action since signing with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in May of 2023.

The 25-year-old wide receiver has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game since going undrafted out of Oregon in 2023. He'll serve as camp depth for the Browns.

The Cowboys worked out Cota (collarbone) on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The Cowboys are looking to add depth to their wide receiver group due to Brandin Cooks (knee) being on injured reserve. Cota signed a reserve/future contract with the Giants in January, but he broke his collarbone during minicamp in June and was waived with an injury settlement Sept. 13. Cota appears to have fully recovered from the injury and is attempting to land on the Cowboys' active roster or practice squad.

Chase Cota: Reaches injury settlement
The Giants waived Cota (collarbone) from IR with an injury settlement Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cota broke his collarbone during a minicamp practice in June and landed on injured reserve shortly thereafter. It's not clear how far along Cota is in his recovery, but by reaching an injury settlement with New York he is now eligible to suit up for another team at some point in the 2024 campaign.

The Giants placed Cota (collarbone) on injured reserve Tuesday, Matt Citak of the team's official site reports.
Cota sustained a broken collarbone during minicamp practice Tuesday, and he'll now move to season-ending IR. The 23-year-old could still appear in the 2024 campaign if he is waived with an injury settlement, though he may have to wait until the 2025 season to make his NFL debut. Cota spent his 2023 rookie campaign between the Chiefs' and Texans' practice squads.

The Texans signed Cota to the practice squad Tuesday.
The move corresponds with Houston letting go kicker Matt Ammendola from the taxi squad. Cota signed with the Chiefs' practice squad on Sept. 26 after reaching an injury settlement with the Lions on Aug. 30. The addition of Cota may be insurance for the Texans, who placed Tank Dell (fibula) on injured reserve Dec. 5 while Nico Collins was knocked out of Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Jetts with a calf injury.

Cota (undisclosed) is healthy again and signed with the Chiefs' practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The Oregon product signed with the Lions in April but was waived with an injury settlement Aug. 30. Cota played in 10 games for the Ducks in 2022 and caught 36 passes for 497 yards and three touchdowns.
