Bengals' Chase Brown: Loses touch dominance
Brown rushed the ball nine times for 42 yards in Sunday's 27-18 loss to the Packers. He added two catches on two targets for seven yards.
Brown finally showed some efficiency on the ground thanks primarily to a 13-yard run shortly before halftime. However, his day was defined by a shift in touch allocation in the Cincinnati backfield, with Samaje Perine earning eight total touches to Brown's 11. Game script may have dictated that late in the contest, but Perine drew the Bengals' first carry and recorded only two of his touches when the team was in a hopeless situation on the scoreboard. There's no obvious candidate to fully displace Brown in the Cincinnati backfield, but this was the team's first signal that it may be growing weary of his lack of efficiency.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Seven catches in loss
Brown rushed the ball eight times for 27 yards in Sunday's 37-24 loss to the Lions. He added seven receptions on eight targets for 21 yards.
The Bengals were scripted out of the run game early on, as they were down by multiple scores for three quarters of the game. Brown had another uninspiring game as a rusher as a result, though he did earn his most involvement as a pass catcher this season. The end result won't provide any reassurance for fantasy managers moving forward, but Brown did deliver a serviceable performance in PPR formats.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Efficient with 13 touches in loss
Brown rushed 10 times for 40 yards and brought in all three targets for 31 yards in the Bengals' 28-3 loss to the Broncos on Monday night.
Brown's opportunities were limited by game script, but he turned in his most efficient performance of the season as both runner and receiver. Prior to Monday night, Brown hadn't averaged more than 2.9 yards per carry in his first three contests, and his 10.3 yards per catch versus Denver edged the 9.0 figure he'd mustered on two grabs Week 2 against the Jaguars. The Bengals offense appears stuck in the mud over its first two full games with Jake Browning at the helm, however, so Brown's fantasy prospects remain muted heading into a Week 5 home matchup against a tough Lions defense.
