  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Remains busy in Week 6 loss

Waddle secured six of eight targets for 95 yards in the Dolphins' 29-27 loss to the Chargers on Sunday. He also completed an eight-yard pass attempt. Waddle fell just short of his second consecutive 100-yard effort, but he still led the Dolphins in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon. The 2021 first-round pick has unsurprisingly seen an uptick in involvement during the first two full games Miami has played without Tyreek Hill (IR, knee), posting a combined 12-205-1 receiving line on 17 targets in that pair of contests. Waddle's clear-cut No. 1 receiver role should persist in a Week 7 road matchup against a talented Browns defense.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Over century mark in loss

Waddle brought in six of nine targets for 110 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 27-24 loss to the Panthers on Sunday. In his first full game this season without Tyreek Hill (IR, knee) alongside him, Waddle stepped up as expected and led the Dolphins across the board in receptions, receiving yards and targets. The talented veteran had another couple of close calls downfield that could have resulted in an even bigger day, but as it was, Waddle posted new season highs in catches, receiving yards and targets. He also recorded his third touchdown of the season on a go-ahead 46-yard grab with just under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, making it a productive all-around day despite the disappointing team outcome. Waddle will aim to put together a successful encore performance in a tough Week 6 home matchup against the Chargers next Sunday afternoon.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Start

He's the No. 1 guy in Miami now with Tyreek Hill (knee) out for the season, and that should lead to more volume from Tua Tagovailoa. Hill was averaging 7.7 targets per game prior to Week 4 -- Waddle averages 5.8 targets per game -- and Waddle has thrived in his career with at least eight targets. Waddle has 26 games in his career with at least eight targets, and he averaged 18.9 PPR points over that span. I hope that's what we get from Waddle on a weekly basis, and I'll start him as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues in Week 5 at Carolina. The Panthers are No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, but Waddle should start to post quality stats from this point forward as the new top receiver for the Dolphins.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Three grabs in Week 4 win

Waddle secured three of six targets for 48 yards in the Dolphins' 27-21 win over the Jets on Monday night. Waddle finished tied for second in receptions and targets and as the runner-up in receiving yards on the night, but the bigger story is the 2021 first-round pick's projected expanded role moving forward. Tyreek Hill suffered what is being termed as a dislocated knee in the third quarter, meaning his season is almost certainly over. Consequently, Waddle, who posted a spectacular 104-1,015-6 line on 141 targets over 16 games back in his rookie 2021 campaign with Hill still on the Chiefs' roster, should elevate to the role of Tua Tagovailoa's top target moving forward. Waddle has yet to top five catches and 68 yards in a game this season, but it should only be a matter of time before he sets new single-game highs, perhaps as soon as a Week 5 road matchup against the Panthers.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Limited in practice Thursday

Waddle (shoulder) was limited at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. After logging limited practices last Tuesday and Wednesday, Waddle approached last Thursday's game against the Bills listed as questionable. The wideout was able to suit up for the contest and recorded an 87 percent snap share versus Buffalo while catching five of his six targets for 39 yards and a touchdown. With no reported setbacks, there's a solid chance that Waddle's listed limitations this Thursday were maintenance-related ahead of Monday night's game against the Jets.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Active versus Bills

Waddle (shoulder) is listed as active for Thursday night's game against the Bills. Waddle was on the field for 82 percent of the Dolphins' snaps on offense in Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Patriots, a game in which he caught five of six targets for 68 yards and a TD. He wasn't listed on Monday's practice estimate, but he then was deemed a limited participant in Tuesday's session, as well as on Wednesday's estimated injury report. With the Thursday availability of Waddle (who had been officially listed as questionable) confirmed, assuming no limitations or setbacks he'll be in a position to maintain his key role in Miami's passing offense opposite fellow starting WR Tyreek Hill, with Malik Washington, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Dee Eskridge also in the mix.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Will test shoulder pre-game

Waddle (shoulder) will determine his availability for Thursday's divisional matchup against the Bills via a pre-game workout, though there is optimism he will play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Waddle is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's road matchup at Buffalo after having popped up as a limited participant at Tuesday's practice. After posting a dud in the regular-season opener, Miami's offense bounced back nicely versus the Patriots in Week 2, a contest that saw Waddle haul in five of six targets for 68 yards and a score. Managing similar production on a short week versus a Bills defense that held the Jets to a combined 154 yards on offense will be a difficult task, so even if cleared to play Thursday night, Waddle has to be considered a volatile fantasy option. His status will be made official no later than 90 minutes prior to Thursday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Still dealing with shoulder issue

Waddle (shoulder) was a limited participant at the Dolphins' practice Tuesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle returned to the injury report Tuesday with a shoulder injury that has been ailing him since the beginning of the season. The wide receiver was able to play through the issue in Week 2 against the Patriots, reeling in five of six targets for 68 yards and a touchdown while playing 81 percent of the team's offensive snaps. Waddle doesn't appear to be in danger of missing Thursday's contest against the Bills.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Cleared to face Patriots

Waddle (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. Waddle practiced without limitations Friday, eliminating any doubts regarding his availability after he was limited Wednesday and Thursday. Miami's entire offense is looking to bounce back after an ugly 33-8 loss to the Colts in Week 1, but Waddle and company have a nice opportunity to right the ship Sunday against a Patriots defense that remains without top cornerback Christian Gonzalez (hamstring).

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Limited again Thursday

Waddle (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. Waddle has now logged back-to-back limited practices due to a shoulder injury seemingly sustained during Miami's blowout loss to the Colts in Week 1, in which he hauled in four of five targets for 30 yards while playing just 65 percent of offensive snaps. Friday's practice will be his final chance to upgrade to 'full' reps before Sunday's divisional matchup against the Patriots. More snaps and routes will go the way of Malik Washington and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine if Waddle is limited or sidelined Week 2.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Limited at practice Wednesday

Waddle (shoulder) was limited at practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. While seeing action on 65 percent of the Dolphins' snaps on offense in a Week 1 loss to the Colts, Waddle caught four of his five targets for 30 yards. Now that he's listed as having a shoulder issue, however, the starting wideout's status for Sunday's game against the Patriots is worth monitoring. Malik Washingtonand Nick Westbrook-Ikhine would be candidates to see more snaps this weekend in the event that Waddle is limited or sidelined.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Quiet day in Week 1 loss

Waddle brought in four of five targets for 30 yards in the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday. Waddle's quiet final line represented the collateral damage caused by an ugly performance from Tua Tagovailoa, who turned the ball over three times while managed just 114 passing yards overall. Waddle finished tied with Tyreek Hill for the team lead in receptions and also drew even with Malik Washington for runner-up status in targets, but it was naturally a very underwhelming day overall for the star receiver. The entire Dolphins air attack will aim for a reset in a Week 2 home matchup against the Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 14.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: One catch against Jags

Waddle recorded one catch on one target for eight yards in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars. Waddle played along with most of Miami's healthy starting offensive unit and was on the field for three possessions. He made his lone catch on the final drive on a pass delivered by Tua Tagovailoa, and Waddle will now turn his focus toward a Week 1 matchup against the Colts.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Not in line to play Saturday

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Friday he doesn't plan to play the starters, including Waddle, during Saturday's preseason game against the Lions, Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post reports. Waddle sat out Miami's preseason opener due to a collision that occurred during joint practices with the Bears, but he returned to practice this week and has participated in team drills against Detroit. He'll need to wait until the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Jaguars on Sat., Aug. 23, however, for a chance to see exhibition reps. Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill (oblique) has not yet returned to practice.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Gets back on practice field

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that Waddle (undisclosed) will retake the field for joint practices against the Lions, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle continues to recover from a collision suffered during joint practices with the Bears last week, which forced him to miss Miami's preseason opener, so it's encouraging to see him back on the field for joint sessions against Detroit. McDaniel confirmed that Waddle and Tyreek Hill (oblique) both remain "day-to-day," however, so it seems like the pair of starting wideouts will be limited in some capacity while returning to practice. Saturday's road game against Detroit represents Waddle's next opportunity to get on the field for exhibition reps.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Labeled day-to-day

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Tuesday that Waddle (undisclosed) and fellow starting wideout Tyreek Hill (oblique) are both day-to-day, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports. McDaniel said a decision hasn't yet been made on the status of the duo for joint practices against the Lions this week, but that "they're definitely in the conversation" to get reps, per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. As a result of seemingly minor injuries, both Waddle and Hill sat out Sunday's preseason debut against the Bears, but it sounds like each has a fair chance to get healthy in time for exhibition action Saturday versus Detroit.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Has minor injury

Head coach Mike McDaniel said after Sunday's 24-24 preseason tie against the Bears that Waddle (undisclosed) was held out because McDaniel didn't want starters playing through any minor injuries, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. McDaniel's statement implies that Waddle is currently working through a minor health concern. Waddle's participation in practice will bear monitoring ahead of the team's next preseason game against the Lions on Saturday, though the starting wide receiver is unlikely to face a lengthy absence.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Unlikely to play vs. Chicago

Based on pregame warmups, Waddle is not in line to play against the Bears in Sunday's preseason opener, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle and Tyreek Hill (oblique) are in street clothes during warmups. It appears Tua Tagovailoa will be without his top two pass catchers, which means Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Malik Washington, Dee Eskridge and Tahj Washington should see more snaps on offense. Waddle's next chance to play will be Saturday against the Lions.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Gains 50 yards Sunday

Waddle (knee) brought in four of nine targets for 44 yards while taking his lone carry for six yards in Sunday's 32-20 loss to the Jets. Waddle successfully returned from a knee injury Sunday that cost him two weeks of game action. The star wideout had mixed results, catching just 44 percent of his targets for 44 yards. The lack of efficiency can be explained by possibly playing at less than 100 percent, in addition to the poor quarterback play of backup Tyler Huntley with Tua Tagovailoa (hip) sitting this one out. Waddle posted the worst receiving line of his professional career in 2024, finishing with 58 receptions for 744 yards and two touchdowns across 15 games played. With news of Tyreek Hill wanting out of Miami following Sunday's ugly defeat, Waddle could be in store for a huge jump in usage in 2025 if that scenario plays out.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Active versus Jets

Waddle (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Jets. Waddle, who missed Miami's last two games, practiced fully Friday before approaching Week 18 action listed as questionable. In his return to action, Waddle will combine with Tyreek Hill to give QB Tyler Huntley (starting once again in place of Tua Tagovailoa/hip) a pair of quality wideout options in Miami's must-win regular-season finale. In 14 games thus far, Waddle has put up a 54/700/2 receiving line on 74 targets.
