Ossai (foot) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Packers, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Ossai sat out the Jets' 23-10 win over the Titans last Sunday as he continued to rehab the foot injury he suffered during the preseason. The defensive end has yet to fully recover from the issue and will now miss consecutive games. Rookie first-round pick David Bailey should continue to be relied upon heavily as an edge rusher in Ossai's absence.

Ossai sat out Sunday's win at Tennessee due to a foot injury he suffered during the preseason, and he still hasn't been able to return to practice. Unless he can practice in some capacity Friday, he'll likely be sidelined again in Week 2 versus the Packers.

Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Monday that Ossai is week-to-week due to a plantar fascia injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Ossai injured his foot during the Jets' preseason finale against the Giants on Saturday. The severity of the injury puts him in jeopardy of missing the Jets' regular-season opener against the Titans on Sunday, Sept. 13, and Ossai could be a candidate for injured reserve. Braiden McGregor and David Bailey will be the Jets' rotational defensive ends behind starters Will McDonald and Kingsley Enagbare for as long as Ossai is sidelined.
