Jets' Joseph Ossai: Considered week-to-week
Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Monday that Ossai is week-to-week due to a plantar fascia injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Ossai injured his foot during the Jets' preseason finale against the Giants on Saturday. The severity of the injury puts him in jeopardy of missing the Jets' regular-season opener against the Titans on Sunday, Sept. 13, and Ossai could be a candidate for injured reserve. Braiden McGregor and David Bailey will be the Jets' rotational defensive ends behind starters Will McDonald and Kingsley Enagbare for as long as Ossai is sidelined.

Jets' Joseph Ossai: Questionable with foot issue
Ossai (foot) is questionable to return to Friday's preseason finale against the Giants, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Ossai exited the first half of Friday's contest with an apparent foot injury. The defensive end was removed from the Jets' active/PUP list Aug. 11 with an undisclosed injury. Another issue for the veteran is not good news, and if he cannot return, Paschal Ekeji will likely see more snaps to round out Friday's game.

Ossai (undisclosed) passed his physical and was removed from the Jets' active/PUP list Tuesday.
Ossai opened training camp on the PUP list while tending to an unspecified injury. He's since been cleared to participate in practice, though it's unclear whether he'll be available for Friday's preseason opener against the Buccaneers. Ossai signed a three-year, $36 million contract with the Jets in March after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Bengals. Ossai (undisclosed) is unlikely to return to practice this week, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
The defensive end was moved to the active/PUP list in late July due to a minor injury. Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Ossai should come back soon, per Rosenblatt. The former Bengal signed a three-year, $36-million free-agent deal with New York in March and should play a significant role once he returns.
