Bengals' Tanner Hudson: Logs reception in return
Hudson recorded a nine-yard reception on two targets while playing 11 of the Bengals' 59 snaps on offense in Sunday's 39-38 loss to the Jets.
Hudson was back in action after missing the Bengals' Week 7 win over the Steelers while recovering from a concussion. Though the Bengals have now played two games without No. 1 tight end Mike Gesicki (pectoral), Hudson doesn't look as though he'll be in line for a substantial increase in snaps. Noah Fant has replaced Gesicki as the Bengals' top pass-catching option at tight end, while Drew Sample (54 percent snap share in Week 8) continues to see ample playing time at the position thanks to his blocking skills. Hudson has shown strong receiving skills on a per-snap basis during his career, but unless he cuts further into Fant's opportunities, he'll remain off the radar in most fantasy leagues.

Bengals' Tanner Hudson: Upgrades to full practice Thursday
Hudson (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Hudson opened the week as a limited practice participant Wednesday, so his full participation in Thursday's session seems to indicate he is progressing through the league's five-step concussion protocol. He will have to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play against the Jets on Sunday. Hudson's return would mean less snaps for Cam Grandy, though it wouldn't have a major impact on the playing time of Noah Fant and Drew Sample.

Hudson (concussion) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Jets.
Hudson was concussed in Week 6 and missed last Thursday night's win over the Steelers, but the 10 days off between games gave Hudson enough time to advance through the league's concussion protocol. Hudson's limited session Wednesday is a positive sign, given that he wasn't able to practice during Week 7 prep while in the league's concussion protocol. The next step for the seventh-year tight end would be to log a full practice, which would get him closer to clearing the league's five-step concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets.

Hudson (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Steelers.
Hudson entered the league's concussion protocol following the Bengals' loss to the Packers on Sunday. The veteran tight end was unable to practice this past week and has not been cleared to play in Thursday's AFC North tilt. With Hudson out and Mike Gesicki (pectoral) on injured reserve, the Bengals are left with Noah Fant, Drew Sample and Cam Grandy as their three tight ends on the active roster.

Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Hudson is in the league's concussion protocol, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
With Mike Gesicki (pectoral) going down on the opening drive against the Packers on Sunday, Hudson played elevated offensive snaps and secured four of five targets for 10 yards and one touchdown. Hudson now is injured and looking unlikely to play Thursday night against the Steelers. If Hudson and Gesicki, who is expected to be out for "a while," can't play against Pittsburgh, Noah Fant, Drew Sample and Cam Grandy would likely handle tight-end duties for the Bengals.

Hudson came out of Sunday's loss to the Packers with concussion symptoms and is in the league's protocol. Bengals' Tanner Hudson: Struggling to find role on offense
Hudson went without a target while playing just one of the Bengals' 62 snaps on offense in Sunday's 37-24 loss to the Lions.
Though Hudson flashed some strong pass-catching chops in his limited opportunities the past two seasons with Cincinnati, he's struggled to find playing time in 2025 with the Bengals bringing back top tight end Mike Gesicki on a new deal and signing Noah Fant to a one-year contract in the offseason. Through five weeks, Hudson has been a healthy inactive on one occasion and has played just two snaps on offense in the four games in which he's suited up.
