49ers' Andrew Farmer: Headed to IR
San Francisco placed Farmer (back) on its injured reserve list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Farmer was not picked up by another squad after the 49ers waived him with an injury designation earlier in the week, and now he'll be required to stay on the team's IR list for the year unless he negotiates an injury settlement. He last played regular-season snaps in 2023 with the Chargers.

Andrew Farmer: Cut with injury
San Francisco waived Farmer (back) with an injury designation Wednesday.
Unless he's claimed by another club during the current waiver period, Farmer is now on track to spend the entire season on the 49ers' injured reserve list. In corresponding transactions, San Francisco also waived/injured William Bradley-King (undisclosed), and signed Quinton Bell and KJ Henry.

Farmer (back) did not participate during the 49ers' training camp practice Monday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
The precise nature of the issue is unknown at this point, and there's no reported timetable for Farmer's return to action. In the meantime, William Bradley-King could get more opportunities on the edge as training camp continues.
