Player Outlook
Until Flournoy finds meaningful playing time, Fantasy managers shouldn't bother adding him to rosters.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Four grabs against Falcons

Flournoy caught four of five targets for 45 yards in Friday's 31-13 preseason win over Atlanta. The 2024 sixth-round pick led the Cowboys in catches and receiving yards on the night, making one last positive impression before the team's initial 53-man roster gets set. With Jonathan Mingo (knee) likely to begin the season on IR, Flournoy is competing for the team's No. 5 wideout spot against Jalen Brooks and rookie UDFA Traeshon Holden.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Gets late audition as rookie

Flournoy caught 10 of 14 passes for 102 yards over 11 regular-season games in 2024. Taken in the sixth round of the 2024 Draft as something of a developmental project, Flournoy didn't make his NFL debut until Week 5. The Southeast Missouri State product saw half of his 14 targets over the final three games while CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) was in the process of being shut down for the season, and Flournoy made a modest impact with a 6-58-0 line. He'll head into 2025 competing for depth snaps at WR with the likes of Jalen Brooks and Jonathan Mingo.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Three catches against Tampa Bay

Flournoy caught all three of his targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Buccaneers. Flournoy's three receptions and 41 receiving yards were both season highs for the rookie. The 25-year-old wideout played 40 percent of the Cowboys' offensive snaps Sunday, his second-highest snap share of the season. With the Cowboys out of playoff contention, it's possible Dallas could want to get an extended look at the Southeast Missouri State product before the end of the season. Flournoy will look to build off his Week 16 performance when the Cowboys visit the Eagles in Week 17, though he should remain off the fantasy radar in that matchup.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Healthy scratch Sunday

Flournoy (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday in Carolina. This marks Flournoy's second healthy scratch since Week 5, but both of them have occurred over the last three games. The rookie sixth-round pick has so far accounted for four catches (on seven targets) for 44 yards and no touchdowns in eight appearances.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Serves as No. 3 receiver in Week 11

Flournoy played 54 of the Cowboys' 83 snaps on offense and finished with two catches for 19 yards on three targets in Monday's 34-10 loss to the Texans. With Dallas making Jalen Brooks a healthy inactive for Week 11, Flournoy stepped in as the Cowboys' new No. 3 receiver and made his first NFL start alongside wideouts CeeDee Lamb and Jalen Tolbert. Even with quarterback Cooper Rush dropping back 60 times on the night while the Cowboys trailed by double digits for most of the contest, Flournoy was unable to carve out much volume in the passing game. The rookie sixth-round pick will be a candidate to see his snaps reduced once Brandin Cooks (knee) is deemed ready to return from injured reserve.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Hauls in catch in Sunday's loss

Flournoy caught one of two targets for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. The 2024 sixth-round pick hauled in his second career reception late in the fourth quarter with Cooper Rush under center for the Cowboys in place of Dak Prescott (hamstring). CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) also came out of Sunday's loss at less than 100 percent, and if the team's top wideout is sidelined for a Week 10 clash with the Eagles, Flournoy could be in line for career-high volume.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Debut delayed

Flournoy (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Browns, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Flournoy, who is listed as No. 6 on the Cowboys' wide receiver depth chart will be the odd man out from their receiving corps Week 1. The 24-year-old was selected in the sixth round by Dallas in the 2024 Draft and he'll now look to Week 2 against the Saints for his next opportunity to suit up.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Shows nose for end zone

Flournoy caught all three of his targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason loss to the Chargers. The 2024 sixth-round pick hauled in a TD in both of the last two preseason games, which may have been enough to lock him into a spot on the 53-man roster. Flournoy isn't likely to see much volume in the regular season, but with CeeDee Lamb still holding out and Brandin Cooks (knee) banged up, Dallas' depth at wideout could be tested early in the year.

  • Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Dealing with knee issue

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Sunday that Flournoy is day-to-day with a knee injury, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. McCarthy added that Flournoy's issue isn't "classified as anything serious," according to Nicole Hutchison of the Cowboys' official site. The 6-foot-1 wide receiver out of Southeast Missouri State was selected in the sixth round after a dazzling performance as the 2024 NFL Combine, and he'll likely compete for one of the final spots in Dallas' receiver room this training camp. Top wideout CeeDee Lamb also is holding out of training camp while awaiting a contract extension, so Flournoy's absence should open up some valuable opportunities for other fringe roster players like Racey McMath and Jalen Moreno-Cropper.
