Cardinals' Reggie Virgil: Inactive for Week 2
Virgil (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
The rookie fifth-rounder has been a healthy scratch for each of the Cardinals' first two games of the regular season, and the next chance for him to make his NFL debut is Week 3 against the 49ers on Sept. 27. The Cardinals will go with six active wide receivers Sunday, with the position group led by Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison and Kendrick Bourne.

Cardinals' Reggie Virgil: Modest production in preseason finale
Virgil caught three of six targets for 23 yards in a loss to Green Bay during Friday's exhibition contest.
Virgil's line was especially quiet in comparison to some of the other wideouts he's competing with a for a spot on the 53-man roster, including Simi Fehoko (5-94-2) and Jalen Brooks (4-57-0). Still, Virgil showed pretty well during the exhibition slate overall, catching 12 of 18 targets for 158 yards over four games. The fact that he was a fifth-round pick in April's NFL Draft could also help his case given that the organization might want to take a longer look at him.

Cardinals' Reggie Virgil: Team-high catch total in defeat
Virgil secured five of six targets for 66 yards in the Cardinals' 33-30 preseason loss to the Panthers on Thursday.
The rookie fifth-round pick led the Cardinals in receptions and targets while finishing second in receiving yards on the night to Jalen Brooks. Virgil is battling Brooks and veterans such as Devin Duvernay and Simi Fehoko for a spot on the latter portion of the wide-receiver depth chart, and Virgil got his quest off to an excellent start Thursday. Given the promise he showed, Virgil should continue seeing plenty of snaps in the Cardinals' preseason game on the road against the Raiders next Thursday.

Cardinals' Reggie Virgil: Nabbed by Cardinals
The Cardinals selected Virgil in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 143rd overall.
Virgil leveraged his third-year breakout at Miami (Ohio) in 2024 into a starting role at Texas Tech in 2025. The 21-year-old finished his final season with 57 receptions for 705 yards and six touchdowns. He's a tall, lanky receiver at 6-foot-3, 187 pounds, and while that didn't limit him in college, it will be a bigger impediment to playing time in the NFL. Out of the gate, Virgil, who ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at the 2026 NFL Combine, figures to be a candidate to compete for special-teams work until he can carve out an offensive role in an Arizona WR corps that's led by Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson.
