Matthew exited Saturday's preseason game against the Ravens with a groin injury, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
The 28-year-old signed with the Cowboys last month and is competing for one of the final roster spots in the Dallas secondary. A seventh-round pick by the Cardinals in the 2022 Draft, Matthew didn't play in a regular-season game last season after being placed on injured reserve by the Ravens prior to Week 1.

Matthew is fully healthy after having spent the entire 2024 season on IR with Baltimore. Matthew appeared in six regular-season games while spending time with the Cardinals and Bears in 2023, and he suited up for 14 regular-season contests as a rookie with the Cardinals in 2022.

Matthew recorded four total tackles (two solo) with the Ravens in the preseason, but he appears to have picked up an undisclosed injury in the process. Unless the cornerback reaches an injury settlement with Baltimore, he's set to miss the entirety of the 2024 season while on IR.
