Ferguson recorded three receptions on three targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Panthers.
Ferguson saw a season-low three targets, with Ryan Flournoy joining George Pickens and Javonte Williams as Dak Prescott's favorite targets. Ferguson was productive with the opportunity he saw, hauling in a 19-yard touchdown just before halftime. He has a touchdown in three straight games, though he could become more reliant upon efficiency with CeeDee Lamb (ankle) potentially in line for a Week 7 return.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Top DFS Play
Rotowire
I don't know how you can go away from Ferguson in cash games. He has four straight games with at least 16.8 PPR Fantasy points. He's averaging over 10 targets per game in that stretch. Oh, and the Panthers are giving up the most PPR Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Hauls in two TDs in win
Rotowire
Ferguson caught seven of nine targets for 49 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-22 win over the Jets.
Dak Prescott continues to lean heavily on the tight end while CeeDee Lamb (ankle) is sidelined. Ferguson was on the other end of two of the QB's four TD passes on the afternoon, hitting paydirt on a 26-yard strike and a one-yard toss in the second quarter as the Cowboys built a 23-3 lead before halftime. Over three games since Lamb went down, Ferguson has compiled a 27-171-3 line on 30 targets, and his seven receptions Sunday were a team high. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 6 against the Panthers.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Top DFS Play

Ferguson is my number two tight end, but he is only the fourth most expensive on FanDuel. He is averaging almost 10 targets per game and has scored at least 16 PPR Fantasy points in three straight games. The Jets have missed more tackles than any defense in football, so don't be surprised if Ferguson has a little more YAC than usual this week.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Perfect on seven targets Sunday
Rotowire
Ferguson brought in all seven of his targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 40-40 overtime tie versus Green Bay.
Ferguson's perfect day at the office was highlighted by the tight end's first receiving touchdown of the season. The 26-year-old failed to sniff the 13 targets he averaged over his last two starts, but the increase efficiency coupled with a trip to the end zone resulted in his best standard fantasy score to date. Ferguson should continue operating as the Cowboys' No. 2 receiving option behind George Pickens for as long as CeeDee Lamb (ankle) remains sidelined -- a scenario that could repeat itself in a Week 5 matchup against the Jets next Sunday.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Targeted 14 times
Rotowire
Ferguson recorded 13 receptions on 14 targets for 82 yards in Sunday's 31-14 loss to the Bears.
Ferguson commanded double-digit targets for the second consecutive week, though he was aided by the absence of CeeDee Lamb (ankle) in Sunday's loss. Ferguson was targeted exclusively in the short areas of the field, with his longest gain of the day going for only 12 yards. While his showings haven't been particularly explosive, Ferguson has a key role in the Dallas offense and has topped 75 receiving yards in consecutive contests.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: TEs to Start
Rotowire
Ferguson is off to a good start this season, and he's worth starting in all leagues in Week 3 at Chicago. He had nine catches for 78 yards on 12 targets in Week 2 against the Giants, but he also had a quality outing in Week 1 at Philadelphia with five catches for 23 yards on six targets. He's still a go-to option for Dak Prescott, and the Lions just got a touchdown from Brock Wright in Week 2 against the Bears.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Leads team in targets in OT win
Rotowire
Ferguson caught nine of 12 targets for 78 yards in Sunday's 40-37 overtime win over the Giants.
The tight end led the Cowboys in target volume during a wild seesaw affair and tied CeeDee Lamb for the team lead in receptions, although Lamb out-paced him in yards with 112. Ferguson has re-established himself as the main security blanket for Dak Prescott, and while he's still looking for his first touchdown since he caught three against Green Bay in the wild-card round of the 2023 season, he's delivered a 14-101-0 line on 18 targets through the first two games of the current campaign. Ferguson could hit paydirt in Week 3 against a Bears defense that just gave up a TD to the Lions' Brock Wright, one of five touchdowns thrown by Jared Goff in a 52-21 rout.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Five grabs to open season
Rotowire
Ferguson brought in five of six targets for 23 yards in the Cowboys' 24-20 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night.
Ferguson finished second in receptions on the Cowboys to CeeDee Lamb and third in receiving yards, although the latter total was a reflection of a low-volume passing night for Dallas. Nevertheless, it was encouraging to see Ferguson as Dak Prescott's second-favorite target on the night, as it was a reminder of the chemistry between the two that was nullified by Prescott's season-ending hamstring avulsion in Week 9 of last season. Ferguson could remain similarly busy during the Cowboys' Week 2 home opener against the Giants on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Not dressed Friday
Rotowire
Ferguson isn't suited up ahead of Friday's preseason game versus the Falcons, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports.
Ferguson thus won't see any action during exhibition season, though his standing as the Cowboys' No. 1 TE was intact all along, especially after inking a four-year, $52 million extension in the early stages of training camp. He's combined for 130 catches (on 188 targets) for 1,255 yards and five touchdowns in 31 regular-season games over the last two years, but he'll have a bit more competition for targets in 2025 following the addition of George Pickens to the WR room this offseason.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Practices Friday
Rotowire
Ferguson (back) participated in Friday's non-padded practice, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
He was diagnosed with a back contusion after an early departure from Thursday's practice. Ferguson told reporters that he's dealing with some pain, but he wants to stay in his routine now that he knows there's no structural injury. Injured or not, he'll presumably be one of the many Cowboys held out of Saturday's preseason game against the Rams.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Diagnosed with contusion
Rotowire
Ferguson was diagnosed with a back contusion after his early exit from Thursday's practice, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
It sounds like he was in pain at the time but should be able to practice again soon. Ferguson signed a four-year, $52 million extension a couple weeks ago, with the Cowboys betting big on a rebound after he managed just 494 yards and no touchdowns in 14 games last year. Better health would go a long way, both for Ferguson himself and for QB Dak Prescott.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Leaves practice early Thursday
Rotowire
Ferguson (lower back) departed the practice field early Thursday after a collision in 11-on-11 drills, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Ferguson appeared to grab his lower back when leaving the field, per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and he skipped a visit to the injury tent entirely before entering the locker room. The No. 1 tight end is less than two weeks removed from signing a four-year, $52 million extension with the Cowboys, and while the severity of his injury remains unknown, he now looks like a candidate to be unavailable for Saturday's preseason opener against the Rams. Luke Schoonmaker, who filled in admirably for Ferguson over a three-game stretch last season, figures to handle the bulk of first-team TE reps if Dallas' starter misses any time.
Ferguson and the Cowboys agreed Sunday on a four-year, $52 million extension, with $30 million guaranteed, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Ferguson has taken hold of Dallas' No. 1 tight-end role since posting a quiet 2022 rookie campaign, though he saw his numbers drop last year and didn't score a touchdown all season. That can be at least partly attributed to Dak Prescott missing over half the campaign due to injury, though, as the pair has worked well together when Prescott has been healthy. Ferguson ranked second on the Cowboys last season with 86 targets, but there could be less looks to go around in 2025 with George Pickens now in the fold alongside returning target-hog CeeDee Lamb. Nonetheless, with Prescott back to health, Ferguson could be in for a bounce-back campaign, and the Cowboys clearly see him as an important part of their future given the length and amount of the extension.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: TEs to Sit
Rotowire
Ferguson missed the first game against Washington in Week 12 with a concussion, but I'm not expecting much from him in the second game in Week 18. He's struggled with Cooper Rush and scored 6.2 PPR points or less in three of his past four games. Ferguson also hasn't scored a touchdown yet this season, and in the first game without CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) in Week 17 at Philadelphia, Ferguson only had three catches for 18 yards on five targets. He's not worth trusting in most leagues in Week 18.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Unremarkable day in loss
Rotowire
Ferguson secured three of five targets for 18 yards and lost a fumble in the Cowboys' 41-7 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Ferguson tied Jalen Tolbert for second on the Cowboys in receptions and was also the runner-up in targets, but he wasn't able to parlay his opportunities into any meaningful production. Additionally, the third-year tight end's second-quarter fumble at the Cowboys' 36-yard line following a six-yard grab helped set up an Eagles field goal while the game was still within reach for Dallas. Ferguson will look to close out the season in much better fashion in Week 18 against the Commanders.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)
Rotowire
Ferguson is coming off a solid game in Week 16 against Tampa Bay with six catches for 40 yards on nine targets, and he scored 10 PPR points. But that was the first time he scored more than 6.2 PPR points since Week 9, and he hasn't scored a touchdown yet this year. He was held to four catches for 24 yards on five targets against Philadelphia in Week 10, and the Eagles are No. 4 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends. Ferguson is only worth starting in deeper leagues in Week 17.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Week 17 Waiver Priority List
Rotowire
Ferguson hasn't been great with Cooper Rush at quarterback for the Cowboys, but Ferguson just had nine targets in Week 16 against Tampa Bay. He finished with six catches for 40 yards, but his 10 PPR points were his best total since Week 9 at Atlanta. He hasn't scored a touchdown yet this season, but Ferguson could be a low-end starter in all leagues in Week 17 at Philadelphia if he continues to get this many opportunities from Rush against the Eagles.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Leads Dallas in targets
Rotowire
Ferguson recorded six receptions on eight targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 26-24 win over Tampa Bay.
Ferguson's nine targets were his highest mark since Week 9, though that didn't lead to a particularly strong fantasy showing. With the exception of a 21-yard reception, he was limited to work in very short areas of the field and has now been held to 40 yards or fewer in six of seven games since the Cowboys' Week 7 bye.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Quiet in easy win
Rotowire
Ferguson recorded two receptions on four targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 30-14 win over the Panthers.
Dallas was able to take its foot off the gas in the second half thanks to a multi-score lead, and Cooper Rush attempted nine passes in the final two quarters. That limited volume for all pass catchers with the exception of CeeDee Lamb, and Ferguson saw only four targets -- good for third on the team -- as a result. The game script should look different in a Week 16 showdown with Tampa Bay, giving Ferguson a better chance to produce.
