Lamb (ankle) remains out for Sunday's game at Carolina, but he's getting closer to a return to action and "has a chance" to play Week 7 versus the Commanders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Since sustaining a left high-ankle sprain early in a Week 3 loss to the Bears, Lamb hasn't logged any practice activity and will wind up missing a third consecutive game Sunday. However, Lamb seemed to show some improvement over the past week, with the wideout appearing to amp up the intensity of his resistance training off to the side during the portions of practice that were open to the media. At this stage, Lamb is still looking like far from a lock to play next Sunday versus Washington, with one source describing the wideout as "50-50" for that contest, per Pelissero. Lamb will almost certainly need to return to practice during the upcoming week as at least a limited participant in order to put himself on a path to playing against the Commanders.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Trending toward another absence
Rotowire
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Friday that the Cowboys don't expect Lamb (ankle) to play in Sunday's game at the Jets, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
After making an early exit from a Week 3 loss at Chicago, Lamb was diagnosed with a high left-ankle sprain, which typically is accompanied by a multi-week absence. He already missed this past Sunday's tie with the Packers, but he was able to resume rehab work on the field as of this Wednesday, marking the first notable progress in his recovery effort. Ultimately, the Cowboys can make a ruling on Lamb's status for Week 5 as soon as they post Friday's injury report.

Lamb has yet to mix into drills since picking up a high left-ankle sprain during a Week 3 loss in Chicago, but he was able to handle rehab work for a second consecutive day Thursday, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. The Cowboys ruled out Lamb on their final Week 4 injury report last Friday, so a similar decision may come down once this Friday's report is posted. WR George Pickens and TE Jake Ferguson figure to be QB Dak Prescott's favorite targets for as long as Lamb is sidelined.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Still sidelined at practice
Rotowire
Lamb (ankle) officially didn't take part in Wednesday's practice, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
On a positive note, Lamb ditched his walking boot and resumed on-field work Wednesday, specifically with resistance bands, per Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com. Prior to the session, coach Brian Schottenheimer told Jon Machota of The Athletic that Lamb is "progressing well" in his recovery from the high left-ankle sprain that he sustained during a Week 3 loss in Chicago, but the Cowboys also will "see how the week goes" before making a call on his Week 5 status. Lamb likely will need to mix into some drills Thursday and/or Friday in order to put himself in a position to return to action, but the Cowboys' final injury report of the week may provide some clarity on that front.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Another DNP on Thursday
Rotowire
Lamb (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Lamb now has missed both practices this week due to the high left-ankle sprain that's expected to sideline him for 3-to-4 weeks. However, the Cowboys have yet to make a ruling on his status for a Week 4 matchup with the Packers, something that may be confirmed as soon as the team posts its final injury report of the week Friday, or as late as 90 minutes before Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. No matter when it happens, the Dallas passing game likely will feature WR George Pickens and TE Jake Ferguson for at least the next few games, with WRs Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin also poised for larger roles.

Rotowire
When discussing Lamb (ankle) Monday, coach Brian Schottenheimer said it "looks like he's gonna miss some time," while noting that it's "unlikely" that the wideout will play Sunday against the Packers, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Per Todd Archer of ESPN.com, Lamb is reportedly dealing with a high left ankle sprain and could miss 3-to-4 weeks, but for now the Cowboys have yet to officially rule out the wideout for Week 4 action. For any length of time Lamb is sidelined, added snaps behind George Pickens and Jalen Tolbert will be available for KaVontae Turpin and Ryan Flournoy.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Dealing with high-ankle sprain
Rotowire
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday that Lamb suffered a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's loss to the Bears, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Lamb said following Sunday's loss that he hasn't ruled himself out for Week 4, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the star wide receiver's injury isn't as significant as it initially appeared when he got his ankle rolled up versus Chicago. That said, a high-ankle sprain is an injury generally severe enough to warrant time on the sideline. It appears as though the Cowboys intend to continue evaluating Lamb before making a decision on his status for Week 4's contest against the Packers. Jones said the team "would love to have [Lamb] back for Green Bay, but at the same time we also have to understand the injury is what it is," per Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Likely avoids major injury
Rotowire
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after Sunday's loss to the Bears the early word on Lamb's ankle injury is positive, and Lamb is believed to have avoided a serious issue, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Jones didn't offer a whole lot in terms of a Lamb update, but the training staff stated Lamb's injury isn't as serious as it could have been, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. Lamb got his ankle rolled up underneath him in the first half against Chicago and tried to return but lasted one play before he was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Lamb will undoubtedly undergo further testing in the coming days ahead of next Sunday night's game against the Packers.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Ruled out of Sunday's game
Rotowire
Lamb (ankle) won't return to Sunday's game in Chicago, Erin Andrews of Fox Sports reports.
Lamb injured his left ankle on a one-yard carry midway through the first quarter and exhibited a visible limp thereafter. He was able to return to the game for one play at the start of the second quarter but didn't look like his normal dynamic self. He then was spotted without a helmet walking slowly around the sidelines before the Cowboys ruled him out just after halftime. George Pickens is in line for more targets moving forward, while KaVontae Turpin, Jalen Tolbert and Ryan Flournoy will be the candidates to take on more snaps.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Tops century mark in OT win
Rotowire
Lamb caught nine of 11 targets for 112 yards in Sunday's 40-37 overtime win over the Giants.
While his final numbers were overshadowed by Malik Nabers' 9-167-2 line, Lamb came up big for the Cowboys when he needed to and led his team in receiving yards while tying Jake Ferguson for the team lead in catches. Lamb has begun the season with back-to-back 100-yard performances, but he's still looking for his first TD heading into a Week 3 clash with a Bears defense that just got torched by Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Lions.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Top DFS Play
Rotowire
Lamb is my number one wide receiver this week in a great matchup against the Giants. His usage last week was great, and the Fantasy production mostly was too, but the narrative all week has been about the drops. I anticipate Dak Prescott feeding Lamb in this game, and I wouldn't be surprised if he tops 30 PPR Fantasy points. Dak is also my favorite QB value, so I strongly suggest stacking the duo in at least one lineup this week.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Looks locked in during camp
Rotowire
Lamb already appears ready for Week 1 as one of the standout performers for the Cowboys to begin training camp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
It shouldn't be a surprise that the Cowboys' top wideout has looked good, as Lamb has made four straight Pro Bowls while topping 1,100 receiving yards in each of those seasons. The 26-year-old still finds ways to try and improve, however. "I had one drop a couple days ago," Lamb said Wednesday about his sole drop so far in practice. "It sucked. I hate it. It made me start all the way over." He saw his production decline last year along with the rest of the Cowboys' passing game, in part due to Dak Prescott's torn hamstring. If the quarterback can stay healthy this time around, Lamb could come close to the career-best 135-1,749-12 line he delivered in 2023.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Doesn't practice Thursday
Rotowire
Lamb (shoulder) isn't taking part in Thursday's practice, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
This follows a listed DNP for Lamb on Wednesday's practice estimate, which is more work than he's typically missed since coming down with an AC joint injury in his shoulder back in Week 9. As a result, he'll have just one more day to mix into drills this week before the Cowboys potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's game at Philadelphia.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Listed as DNP to begin week
Rotowire
Lamb (shoulder) was estimated as a non-participant on Wednesday's injury report, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Lamb has played through an AC joint injury in his shoulder since Week 9, but he's still suited up for every game in the interim, accumulating a 48-534-2 line on 68 targets over the last seven games. He hasn't missed a beat with quarterback Cooper Rush under center in place of Dak Prescott, but Lamb again will get some rest to kick off Week 17 prep.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Listed as limited Wednesday
Rotowire
Lamb (shoulder) was a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Lamb continues to operate with a cap on his practice reps, as he's done most weeks since initially suffering an AC joint injury in his shoulder back in Week 9. In six games in the meantime, he's produced a 41-429-2 line on 60 targets. Lamb will have two more opportunities this week to practice fully or otherwise risk taking a designation into Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers.
