Giants' Cameron Johnston: Elevated from practice squad
The Giants elevated Johnston from their practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup versus the Commanders, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Johnston will have a chance to make his debut with the team after signing with the Giants earlier in the week. The 33-year-old could be in line to handle punting duties, as Jamie Gillan is listed as doubtful due to a knee injury.

Giants' Cameron Johnston: Signing to Giants' practice squad
Johnston (foot) is set to sign with the Giants, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. It's a practice-squad contract, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
Johnston punted for the Bills in Weeks 2 through 4 before suffering a foot injury and landing on IR. He ultimately was waived with an injury settlement and hadn't found a new team until Tuesday. The Giants signed Johnston after putting him through a workout, so the team clearly feels the foot issue is a thing of the past. According to Raanan, New York's regular punter, Jamie Gillan, is nursing an undisclosed injury and is uncertain to play Sunday against Washington, which explains why the team is bringing Johnston aboard.

Cameron Johnston: Waived by Bills
Johnston (foot) was waived from injured reserve by the Bills on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Johnston landed on injured reserve in late September, and he has since missed the required four games. He is eligible to return as soon as he proves to be healthy, and he could find a new opportunity around the league quickly.

Bills' Cameron Johnston: Placed on injured reserve
The Bills placed Johnston (foot/ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Johnston sustained the injury during the third quarter of Sunday's 31-19 win over the Saints. The injury is severe enough for him to warrant a stint on IR, which means he'll be forced to be sidelined for at least the next four games. That puts Week 10 against the Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 9 as the earliest Johnston can return from injured reserve. The Bills signed Mitch Wishnowsky to the active roster, and he will serve as Buffalo's punter while Johnston is on the shelf.

Steelers' Cameron Johnston: Leaves on cart
Johnston (leg) left the field on a cart and is likely out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Falcons, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
The punter injured his right leg after getting crushed on a punt attempt by KhaDarel Hodge of the Falcons, per Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Both Saunders and Batko indicated that the injury might have longer-term implications.
