Kenny Moore: Shown door by Colts
The Colts released Moore on Thursday, JJ Stankevitz of the team's official site reports.
Back in April, Moore and the Colts mutually agreed to seek a trade for the veteran cornerback. With a $13.2 million cap hit in tow, the Colts were unable to find a taker, so they cut Moore outright. Moore was one of the league's premier slot corners in his prime. While he's set to turn 31 years old in August, he still averaged 50.9 defensive snaps per game last year, finishing with 55 tackles, six pass breakups, 1.5 sacks and a pick-six through 14 games. The undrafted cornerback who started his pro career in 2017 should have plenty of interested parties in free agency.

Colts' Kenny Moore: Seeking trade out of Indy
Moore and the Colts have mutually agreed to seek a trade for the veteran cornerback, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Friday.
Moore is set to carry a cap hit of $13.2 million in 2026, but the Colts could save more than $7 million by trading or releasing Moore. Sauce Gardner (calf) and Charvarius Ward (concussion) are poised to lead Indianapolis' cornerback room in 2026, assuming Ward doesn't opt to retire. Moore has spent nine seasons in Indianapolis, appearing in 132 regular-season games. The 30-year-old cornerback plays primarily in the slot.

Colts' Kenny Moore: Logs 55 tackles in 2025
Moore recorded 55 tackles (34 solo), including 1.5 sacks, six pass breakups, including one interception, and two forced fumbles across 14 regular-season contests in 2025.
After starting all 15 games he played in last season, logging 98 percent of the defensive snaps, Moore started just seven of his 14 appearances in 2025 and played just 76 percent of the defensive snaps in those contests. With Charvarius Ward (concussion) and Sauce Gardner (calf) new to the team this season, Moore stuck to more of a sub-package role as the Colts' slot cornerback. Now 30 years old, Moore dealt with calf, Achilles and ankle issues during the 2025 campaign. The veteran is under contract through 2026 but could be a cut candidate due to his $9.49 million salary and $13.2 million cap number. The Colts can save more than $7 million in cap space by releasing Moore.

Colts' Kenny Moore: Ties career high with 10 stops
Moore logged 10 tackles (eight solo), including two stops for a loss, during the Colts' 23-17 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.
Moore finished Sunday's contest as the Colts' second-leading tackler behind Nick Cross (12). It was the seventh time in Moore's career that he has logged 10 tackles in a game, which is his career high. The veteran corner is up to 54 tackles (34 solo), including 1.5 sacks, six pass defenses (including a pick-six) and two forced fumbles across 13 regular-season games.

Colts' Kenny Moore: Upgrades to full participation
Moore (illness/ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Moore upgraded to full participation Thursday after not practicing Wednesday due to an illness. The starting slot cornerback will be good to go for Sunday's divisional matchup with the Jaguars, a game that could be pivotal in determining the winner of the AFC South.

Colts' Kenny Moore: Dealing with illness
Moore (illness/ankle) was listed as a non-participant during Wednesday's walkthrough.
Moore was listed on the injury report with this ankle injury last week, but he was still a full practice participant. Thus, it's likely that Moore's illness is what's keeping him out of practice instead of the ankle issue. Moore has posted 36 tackles (20 solo), five pass breakups, 1.5 sacks and a pick-six through nine games. Chris Lammons likely will start at slot cornerback if Moore can't play Sunday versus the Jaguars.
