Hendrickson (hip) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears.
As expected, the star edge rusher will be held out for the second time this season after he had been listed as doubtful heading into the weekend upon logging no practice activity from Wednesday through Friday. Though the Bengals had originally provided indications that they weren't open to moving Hendrickson -- a pending free agent -- ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Sunday that the team may no longer be as firm in its stance. The result of Sunday's game could be important in determining the Bengals' plans ahead of the deadline; a loss would drop the team to 3-6 and significantly dim its hopes of making a push for a playoff spot.

Bengals' Trey Hendrickson: Doubtful for Week 9
Hendrickson (hip) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bears, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Hendrickson aggravated his hip injury in last Sunday's loss to the Jets and hasn't practiced this week. Joseph Ossai, Myles Murphy and Shemar Stewart should see the bulk of the playing time at edge rusher for Cincinnati against Chicago.

Hendrickson (hip) remained a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Hendrickson didn't take the practice field Wednesday or Thursday after aggravating his hip injury in Cincinnati's Week 8 loss to the Jets. He'll likely need to practice in some capacity Friday to maintain a chance to suit up Sunday against the Bears.

The veteran edge rusher aggravated his previous hip injury in the Bengals' Week 8 loss to the Jets, so it's no surprise that he's missing Wednesday's practice. Hendrickson was labeled "day-to-day" by head coach Zac Taylor earlier in the week, suggesting he has a chance to play in the Week 9 matchup against the Bears. His practice participation Thursday and Friday will likely provide the best indication of whether he can suit up Sunday.

Head coach Zac Taylor relayed Monday that Hendrickson is considered "day-to-day" due to a hip injury that he aggravated during the Bengals' 39-38 loss to the Jets on Sunday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Hendrickson was seen limping to the locker room during halftime of Sunday's contest and was ruled out for the second half, which ended his day with one solo tackle on 23 defensive snaps. His practice participation over the coming week will be closely monitored by medical staff as he works through his injury, and he is in jeopardy of being sidelined for the Bengals' Week 9 clash against the Bears this Sunday. Myles Murphy saw a significant increase in defensive snaps in Week 8, and he would be in line for a larger role in Week 9 if Hendrickson is on a snap count or ruled out.

Hendrickson limped to the locker room during halftime of Sunday's contest against the Jets after he appeared to reaggravate a hip injury that kept him out in Week 7. Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News added during halftime that the 30-year-old was struggling to walk on his own power. With the nine-year pro out, Myles Murphy is set for additional snaps. Hendrickson has totaled 15 tackles (10 solo), including 4.0 sacks, so far this season.

Hendrickson (hip) limped to the locker room at halftime of Sunday's game against the Jets and will not return, CBS's Aditi Kinkhabwala reports.
Hendrickson was never really able to get loose, and he was coming in and out of the game during the first half. The Bengals' pass rush is already shaky without him, and it didn't get much pressure on the Jets' Justin Fields in the first half. We'll see during the week if Hendrickson can give it another go next week against the Bears.
