Patriots' K.J. Britt: Heading to New England
Britt is slated to sign a one-year contract with the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Britt heads to a division rival after his one-year stint with the Dolphins. He handled a depth role across 17 regular-season appearances in 2025, totaling 35 tackles (12 solo). He projects to handle a similar rotational role in New England, while also potentially acting as a significant contributor on special teams.

Dolphins' K.J. Britt: Begins Week 18 prep as FP
Britt (groin) practiced fully Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Britt suffered a groin injury in this past Sunday's win over Tampa Bay, but the issue doesn't appear to be serious. Given that he was able to practice in full Wednesday, it's likely Britt will be healthy enough to suit up for the Dolphins' season finale Sunday versus New England. Britt's playing time has been inconsistent this season, but he could see more defensive snaps than usual Week 18 if Jordyn Brooks (hamstring, DNP on Wednesday) is unable to suit up.

Dolphins' K.J. Britt: Dealing with groin injury
Britt (groin) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers.
Britt suffered an apparent groin injury in the second half, placing some doubt on his ability to return to action. In his absence, Jackson Woodard could see some added snaps at middle linebacker behind starter Tyrel Dodson.

Dolphins' K.J. Britt: Not a factor Sunday
Britt played one defensive snap and 23 special teams snaps during Sunday's 31-6 loss at Cleveland.
When Tyrel Dodson sat out with a concussion in Week 6, Britt filled in and ultimately led Miami in tackles. But with Dodson healthy and available again in Week 7, Britt was all but completely phased out of the Dolphins' defensive game plan. He doesn't figure to play a significant role at linebacker unless one of Jordyn Brooks or Dodson is out of the picture.

Dolphins' K.J. Britt: Logs 13 stops Sunday
Britt recorded 13 total tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Chargers.
With Tyrel Dodson (concussion) sidelined for the Week 6 contest, Britt played a season-high 61 defensive snaps and led the Dolphins in tackles. The veteran linebacker from Auburn has now tallied 20 total tackles over Miami's first six games this season, playing just 84 defensive snaps. He could draw another start in the Dolphins' Week 7 matchup against the Browns if Dodson is unable to clear concussion protocol.

Dolphins' K.J. Britt: Lands in Miami
Britt signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Britt is coming off a career year in Tampa Bay, having racked up 72tackles (40 solo) including 0.5 sacks, plus one pass defensed. With Anthony Walker having departed as a free agent and signed a one-year contract with the Buccaneers, Britt has a clear path to a starting role at interior linebacker with Miami, a role that could provide him with modest fantasy value in IDP formats.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Career numbers in contract year
Britt supplied 72 tackles (40 solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one defended pass across 14 regular-season games in 2024.
Britt moved into a starting role at left inside linebacker in Todd Bowles' defense in 2024 and made good use of the opportunity, recording at least six stops in six contests while logging a career-high 588 snaps. Britt missed three games in Weeks 14 to 16 with an ankle injury, but he otherwise gave a solid accounting of himself in what was the final year of his rookie deal. Given the 2021 fifth-round pick has only one season of extensive play on film, it's possible Britt can be a cost-effective re-signing for the Buccaneers this offseason unless another team on the open market is willing to pay up for his potential.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Three stops in return from injury
Britt furnished three tackles (two solo) in the Buccaneers' 48-14 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Britt was making his return from a three-game absence due to an ankle injury, but he played just 17 snaps (36 percent) on defense. The fourth-year linebacker has been productive overall despite the absences and modest numbers Sunday, as Britt now boasts a career-high 69 tackles (37 solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one pass defensed across 572 snaps over 13 games.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Will play against Carolina
Britt (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Britt will return from a three-game absence due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 13 against the Panthers. In the 11 games prior to his injury, the 2021 fifth-round pick logged 66 tackles (35 solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one pass defense. Britt should reclaim his starting spot at inside linebacker alongside Lavonte David while J.J. Russell and Deion Jones serve as the backups.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Questionable for Sunday
Britt (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
The Auburn product has been sidelined for each of Tampa Bay's last three games due to an ankle injury sustained in the Week 13 win over the Panthers. However, Britt practiced in full throughout the week, suggesting he's nearing a return to the field. If Britt suits up for Sunday's divisional matchup, he's expected to start alongside Lavonte David as part of the Bucs' top inside linebacker duo.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Could return Week 17
Britt (ankle) was estimated as a full participant in practice Wednesday.
Britt has missed Tampa Bay's past three games after suffering an ankle injury Week 13 against Carolina. Though the Buccaneers didn't hold a regular practice Wednesday, the fact Britt was estimated as a full participant suggests he could return to the field Sunday against the Panthers. J.J. Russell has been starting in Britt's absence.
