Allen rushed 10 times for 40 yards in the Jets' 23-10 win over the Titans on Sunday.
Allen failed to secure his lone target in the pass game. With Breece Hall past his groin issue, he operated as the clear RB1 in a workhorse role, rushing 22 times for 102 yards and one touchdown while adding two catches for 16 yards. Hall out-snapped Allen 39 to 27, cementing the former as an RB2 with RB1 upside for fantasy, especially if the Jets can get into positive game scripts like they had in Tennessee on Sunday. Allen is an upper-tier fantasy bench stash at the position.

Jets' Braelon Allen: Slots into backup spot
Allen is listed second on the Jets' unofficial depth chart behind Breece Hall.
Allen worked with the starters for most of the preseason while Hall was sidelined by a groin injury. Hall practiced without limitations Wednesday, as did Isaiah Davis (knee), who is listed third on the team's unofficial depth chart. Allen is listed at 235 pounds and has reportedly bulked up to around 250. The 2024 fourth-round pick's large frame could help Allen command valuable goal-line and short-yardage work even while Hall is healthy.

Allen rushed three times for four yards and caught his lone target for five yards in Friday's 17-0 preseason win over the Steelers.
Allen got the start at running back in the absence of Breece Hall (groin) and played the opening drive along with the team's starters. That possession produced a touchdown, but Geno Smith's arm did the heavy lifting rather than Allen's legs. The Jets are optimistic that Hall will be back by Week 1, and Isaiah Davis (knee) could push Allen for the top backup spot once healthy. Allen is the team's top available RB at the moment, but this is a situation that will be worth monitoring in the coming weeks.

The 2024 fourth-round pick out of Wisconsin recorded rushes of eight and four yards before breaking free for a 31-yard touchdown run. Allen had been set to compete with Isaiah Davis (knee) for opportunities behind Hall, but Davis is week-to-week due to a knee injury, so Allen is expected to open the regular season as the team's No. 2 running back. Having bulked up to 250 pounds, Allen has the frame to take on short-yardage work, but he'll need to earn it by converting when such opportunities present themselves.
