Carson Steele: Reaches injury settlement with Philadelphia
The Eagles waived Steele (shoulder) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Steele was waived/injured last week due to a shoulder injury and ultimately ended up on IR. That could have ended his season, but by reaching an injury settlement, the UCLA product will now be able to seek work with another team once he's healthy. Steele played primarily on special teams during his two games with the Eagles this season, though he did log three offensive snaps and caught one of two targets for four yards.

Eagles' Carson Steele: Reverts to IR
Steele (shoulder) reverted to the Eagles' injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction list.
Steele played just 12 snaps (three on offense, nine on special teams) for the Eagles in Week 6 before exiting with a dislocated shoulder. The 24-year-old joins fellow running backs Tank Bigsby (abdomen) and Will Shipley (foot) on IR. Damien Pierce is the only healthy running back on the roster, though, Saquon Barkley was also present at practice and a candidate to return for Week 7 after missing the last two weeks with a hamstring injury.

Steele (shoulder) was waived/injured by the Eagles on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Steele suffered a shoulder injury during the team's loss to the Panthers in Week 6, and he will now revert to injured reserve with Philadelphia if he goes unclaimed on waivers. The running back played three snaps on offense and nine snaps with the special-teams unit versus Carolina, reeling in one of two targets for four yards. In a corresponding move, the Eagles signed Elijah Mitchell to the practice squad Tuesday.

Steele has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Panthers due to a shoulder injury.
Steele exited the first quarter of Sunday's game with the injury before returning briefly in the second quarter. The running back exited the game shortly thereafter, when he appearing to aggravate the initial injury on kickoff coverage. He also secured seven of 11 targets for 22 yards and fumbled three times, losing two. Chiefs' Carson Steele: Early impact as rookie
Steele rushed 56 times for 183 yards and hauled in seven of his 11 targets for 26 yards in 17 games during the 2025 regular season.
Steele was immediately asked to contribute as a rookie, including a 17-carry effort against the Falcons in Week 3. However, his contributions waned as the season wore on following the addition of Kareem Hunt as a free-agent signing and the return of Isiah Pacheco from a rib injury. Hunt and Samaje Perine were on one-year deals with the Chiefs, making the pair free agents ahead of the 2025 campaign. Even so, the front office presumably will add another couple of backs to the room during the offseason via free agency or the draft. Steele likely will need to earn his way up the depth chart behind Pacheco heading into next year.
