Sean Payton on Denver's surprise Round 3 selection: "There were so many things about his game that reminded me of Mike Thomas ... really explosive off the line of scrimmage, he's very competitive, very tough ... His size and his hands are outstanding." Courtland Sutton is one of the NFL's best X receivers, so it's tough to envision what the role might be early during Bryant's career. It's probably best to temper expectations. Bryant was great in 2024, scoring 10 touchdowns and recording a stellar 3.07 yard per route run rate. It wasn't until his fourth season that he showed that kind of ability, though. He doesn't have overwhelming athletic traits, and receivers of the "field-stretcher" archetype often are better for real-life than Fantasy. Bryant's possible path to early playing time makes him worth targeting in the final rounds of your drafts.

Broncos' Pat Bryant: Two grabs in preseason win
Rotowire
Bryant brought in two of five targets for 19 yards in the Broncos' 28-19 preseason win over the Saints on Saturday afternoon.
The rookie third-round pick put the finishing touches on a productive first preseason as a pro by recording multiple receptions for the third time in as many exhibitions. Bryant's outlook brightened further with the trade of Devaughn Vele to the Saints earlier in the week, as the former now lines up to open the 2025 campaign as the likely No. 4 receiver.

Broncos' Pat Bryant: Climbs up depth chart
Rotowire
Bryant is one of the main beneficiaries of Denver trading wide receiver Devaughn Vele to New Orleans on Wednesday, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
The Broncos' willingness to move on from Vele, who tallied 41 catches for 475 receiving yards and three scores as a rookie in 2024 despite playing just 13 regular-season games, seems a clear endorsement of Bryant. The rookie third-round pick impressed with four catches for 70 yards (on five targets) during last Saturday's preseason win over the Cardinals, and he'll have a final chance to impress in exhibition action this Saturday, Aug. 23, versus the Saints. Second-year pro Troy Franklin and veteran journeyman Trent Sherfield could both also be in line for increased opportunities in the wake of Vele's departure.

Broncos' Pat Bryant: Paces pass catchers in win
Rotowire
Bryant secured four of five targets for 70 yards in the Broncos' 27-7 preseason win over the Cardinals on Saturday night.
Bryant tied for the team lead in receptions and targets while setting the pace in receiving yards. The 2025 third-round pick also put together a solid showing in the preseason opener against the 49ers, and while he's projected to open the season down the depth chart, Bryant could claw his way to more snaps as the campaign unfolds.

Broncos' Pat Bryant: Targeted twice in preseason opener
Rotowire
Bryant caught both of his targets for 21 yards in Saturday's 30-9 preseason win over the 49ers.
Bryant played 34 offensive snaps in the contest, the most of any Broncos wide receiver. The rookie's two grabs were both third-down conversions, helping to extend drives in the second quarter. Bryant currently sits behind fellow receivers Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin on the depth chart, with Sutton firmly entrenched as the top option in the passing game and Mims the early favorite for the No. 2 role. Bryant, Vele and Franklin should continue to compete for playing time as the 2025 campaign approaches. The 22-year-old Illinois product will have his next opportunity to earn a prominent role in Denver's offense when the Broncos host the Cardinals in Week 2 of the preseason.

Broncos' Pat Bryant: Mile High bound
Rotowire
The Broncos selected Bryant in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 74th overall.
Bryant was more expected to go on Day 3, but coach Sean Payton has a type when it comes to receiver prospects. The Illinois product is tall and lean at 6-foot-2 and 204 pounds. He isn't a workout warrior with 4.61 speed but that didn't stop him from producing. His last two seasons were particularly impressive, as he combined for 17 touchdowns in those years. As a senior, Bryant boosted his YPT from 8.4 to 11.9 despite drawing 17 more targets, which is a positive indicator. It's a crowded receiver room in Denver behind Courtland Sutton with several different intriguing options with different skill sets. It's a good sign for Bryant that he was selected this high, yes, but it's difficult to pinpoint where he fits in alongside Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin and Devaughn Vele.
