Rams' Zech McPhearson: Signs with LA
The Rams signed McPhearson to a contract Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
McPhearson has not played in an NFL game since 2022, when he was with the Eagles. The 2022 fourth-rounder out of Texas Tech played in 17 regular-season games that year, logging 96 defensive snaps and 358 special teams snaps. The 2025 Rams special teams unit was among the worst in the NFL, so a cornerback with a history of special teams production is a reasonable flyer for the team to take during the expanded roster period.

The Colts hosted McPhearson (undisclosed) for a workout Tuesday, Nathan Brown of The Indianapolis Star reports.
McPhearson was with the Jaguars in training camp last year but was released from injured reserve in mid-August. The Texas Tech product last saw NFL regular-season action in 2022 with the Eagles, when he logged 14 tackles (12 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense across 17 games.

Zech McPhearson: Released from IR
McPhearson (undisclosed) was released from injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement with the Jaguars on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
McPhearson was placed on injured reserve with Jacksonville after suffering an undisclosed injury last week, but he will now be free to sign elsewhere as a free agent. The cornerback will need to pass a physical to join a new team, but he is now eligible to play again in 2025.

Jaguars' Zech McPhearson: Lands on injured reserve
The Jaguars placed McPhearson (undisclosed) on the injured reserve list Wednesday.
McPhearson is dealing with an unspecified injury, and by going on IR, he'll be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Jaguars. The 2021 fourth-rounder played 30 snaps (23 on defense, seven on special teams) and logged three tackles (two solo) during the Jaguars' preseason loss to the Steelers on Saturday. McPhearson has not played in an NFL regular-season game since 2022 with the Eagles, when he logged 14 tackles (12 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense across 17 games.

Eagles' Zech McPhearson: Recovered from Achilles injury
McPhearson said during a community event Saturday that he's "100 percent" recovered from his Achilles tear and that he'll be a full-go at the start of training camp, Andrew DiCecco of Inside the Birds reports.
McPhearson missed all of last season after tearing his right Achilles during a preseason game. Prior to the injury, the cornerback had played in 33 of a possible 34 regular-season contests and in all four of the Eagles' playoff games during his first two years in the NFL. McPhearson was adamant Saturday that he's back to full health and will be ready to participate from the first day of training camp, despite sitting out of spring practices as part of a "strategic ramp-up regimen." The 26-year-old will be competing for a depth role in a crowded Eagles secondary.
