Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Very productive in Week 4 win
Elliott registered six tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, a forced fumble and two defensed passes, including an interception, in Sunday's 24-21 win over Minnesota.
Elliot made a number of big plays in the narrow victory, beginning with an interception of Carson Wentz in the second quarter. Elliott later sacked Wentz for an eight-yard loss in the third period and forced a fumble on the play, though the Vikings were able to recover. That was Elliott's first regular-season sack since 2021.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Ready to rock
Elliott (knee) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Vikings.
After missing the Steelers' last two games due to a knee injury sustained in the Week 1 win over the Jets, Elliott practiced in full Friday and is ready to return Sunday. He was one of Pittsburgh's top defensive playmakers in 2024, recording 108 total tackles and six passes defended, including one interception, over 15 contests. Now that the Texas product has returned from injury, he's expected to serve as the Steelers' top strong safety in Week 4.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Returns with limited practice
Elliott (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.
Elliott hurt his knee in the season opener against the Jets and missed each of Pittsburgh's subsequent two games. He didn't practice at all for two weeks prior to Wednesday, so his return to the field, even as a limited participant, is a promising sign. According to DeFabo, Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Elliott has a chance to return for Sunday's game against Minnesota.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Won't play Week 2
Elliott (knee) has been ruled out for the Steelers' Week 2 contest against the Seahawks on Sunday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Elliott suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee during the Steelers' Week 1 win against the Jets, finishing with six tackles (five solo) in just 26 defensive snaps. The injury could sideline him for a couple of weeks, per Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com, which makes him a long shot to play in Pittsburgh's Week 3 road contest against New England on Sunday, Sept. 21. Chuck Clark worked with the Steelers' first-team defense at safety alongside Juan Thornhill following Elliott's exit, but the recently signed Jabrill Peppers could step up as the starter for as long as Elliott is sidelined.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Unlikely to return Sunday
Elliott is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Jets due to a knee injury, Burt Lauten of the Steelers' official site reports.
Elliott appeared to injure his left knee in the second quarter and left for the locker room after being evaluated by trainers on the sidelines. Chuck Clark has stepped in at safety and should see a prominent role in the second half given that Elliott is unlikely to return to Sunday's regular-season opener.
