Washington had been competing for a depth role among the Ravens' tight end corps, but he wasn't able to make the team's initial roster. He hasn't logged a regular-season NFL snap since 2022, when he played in one contest for New England without drawing any targets.

Ravens' Scotty Washington: Signs with Baltimore
Washington and the Ravens agreed on a contract Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Washington will return to Baltimore after spending the final handful of weeks with the team's practice squad in 2024. With Isaiah Likely (foot) sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing surgery, Washington will provide the Ravens with another body at tight end during the team's training camp.

The Ravens signed Washington to their practice squad Wednesday.
Washington worked out for Baltimore earlier in the week, and the team evidently was pleased with his showing. The tight end spent the summer with the Ravens but was cut with an injury settlement after he broke his hand during the preseason. With Charlie Kolar suffering a broken arm in Week 12, Washington gives the Ravens some added depth at the position.

Washington signed with Cincinnati in 2020 as an undrafted free agent and has spent most of his career on the practice squads of the Bengals and Patriots. He was released by New England on Aug. 27 ahead of the 53-man roster deadline but was not invited back to their practice squad. Washington will now have a chance to crack an active roster with the Steelers.

Washington spent the first two seasons of his career with the Bengals before signing with the Patriots' practice squad Sept. 20. The 25-year-old tight end then made his NFL debut after being elevated for the Week 16 loss to Cincinnati, though he did not log a target over his 20 offensive snaps. Washington landed on the practice-squad injured list with an undisclosed issue Dec. 27, and it appears he is now healthy again heading into the 2023 offseason.

Washington was elevated from New England's practice squad for Week 16's loss to the Bengals and ended up seeing the first NFL action of his career, logging 22 offensive snaps as a result of both Hunter Henry (knee) and Jonnu Smith (concussion) exiting the game due to injury. Week 17 could have presented Washington a prime opportunity with the aforementioned tight ends questionable to play against Miami, but he'll instead miss the remainder of the regular season. At the moment, Matt Sokol -- who is on New England's practice squad -- is the team's lone healthy tight end.
