Joseph Charlton: Works out for Big Blue
Charlton worked out for the Giants on Monday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Charlton was one of numerous players the Giants brought in for Monday's workout. However, there doesn't appear to be any imminent signings coming. Nonetheless, it's a good sign to see the 24-year-old punter healthy again after he was placed on injured reserve in mid-October with a back injury.

Joseph Charlton: Let go by Panthers
Charlton (back) was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Charlton was placed on injured reserve in mid-October with a back injury, and he was designated to return in early November. However, Lachlan Edwards has impressed enough in spot duties to apparently remain Carolina's punter for the rest of the season. Assuming Charlton clears waivers, he will be free to sign with any team.

Panthers' Joseph Charlton: Designated for return
The Panthers announced Wednesday that Charlton (back) has been designated for return from IR, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Charlton was placed on IR mid-October and has missed the designated minimum of three games, making him eligible to return as soon as Sunday's contest against the Patriots. The Panthers officially have a 21-day window to evaluate the punter at practice.

Panthers' Joseph Charlton: Sidelined at least three games
Charlton (back) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Darin Gannt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Charlton popped up on the injury report as a limited participant Wednesday, which didn't seem to be a reason to be particularly concerned about his health. Just one day later, he was placed on injured reserve, which will keep him out for a minimum of the team's next three games. Charlton has averaged a net of only 37.5 yards per punt this season.
