Top Tony Pollard News

  • Titans' Tony Pollard: Returns to practice Wednesday

Pollard (undisclosed) returned to practice Wednesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Pollard missed Monday's practice after taking four carries for 22 yards and a TD in last Thursday's preseason opener against San Francisco. A quick return to the practice field suggests he'll be fine for Week 1, regardless of participation (or lack thereof) in the upcoming exhibition against Seattle on Sunday. Pollard was in for nine of Cam Ward's 22 snaps last week, with Tyjae Spears playing the other 13 snaps and taking five touches for 39 yards.

  • Titans' Tony Pollard: Not spotted at Monday's practice

Pollard (undisclosed) wasn't spotted at practice Monday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

The same applies to fellow RBs Nicholas Singleton (undisclosed) and Kalel Mullings (hip), a context that also applied to Saturday's session, per Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com. For now, consider Pollard day-to-day as this Sunday's preseason contest against the Seahawks approaches. When available, Pollard is on track to continue to lead a Titans backfield that also includes Tyjae Spears, who is a candidate to see his share of touches in a complementary role.

  • Titans' Tony Pollard: Scores TD in preseason opener

Pollard rushed four times for 22 yards and a touchdown and wasn't targeted in the Titans' 19-13 preseason win over the 49ers on Thursday.

The veteran running back took the field with the rest of the Titans' starters on Tennessee's opening possession and wasted no time making an impact, quickly bursting up the middle for a 12-yard run on his team's first play from scrimmage. Pollard eventually capped the drive off with a five-yard touchdown run, finishing his abbreviated night in impressive fashion. Pollard is looking to maintain a firm hold on the No. 1 running back role over Tyjae Spears in what is expected to be an improved Tennessee offense, and Thursday's showing certainly got him off to a strong start in that regard.

  • Titans' Tony Pollard: Looking to remain top option in TEN

Pollard found paydirt at the Titans' joint practice with the 49ers on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website reports.

Pollard was able to reel in a touchdown through the air from Cam Ward during the team's red-zone period against San Francisco. The running back is set to face some added competition in the backfield this season after Tennessee selected Nicholas Singleton in the fifth round of this year's draft, while Tyjae Spears (undisclosed) is looking to put together his first healthy campaign since his rookie year in 2023. Pollard has been a bit of an iron man in his NFL career, missing just a handful of regular-season contests over the last five years, but the 29-year-old has seen his receiving production drop in each of the last three campaigns, and he could find himself on the sidelines more often in passing situations this season.

  • Titans' Tony Pollard: Poised for third season with Titans

As training camp approaches, Pollard -- who started all 17 games at running back for the Titans in 2025 -- is expected to again lead a backfield that returns last season's top backup in Tyjae Spears, and which added Nicholas Singleton in the fifth round of April's NFL Draft.

Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site previously noted plenty of speculation that the team might use the fourth overall pick in the draft on Notre Dame running Jeremiyah Love. With Tennessee electing to take Ohio State wideout Carnell Tate instead, Pollard remains atop the depth chart and has his sights set on exceeding 1,000 rushing yards for a fifth straight campaign. The Titans still have Spears to handle passing downs and change-of-pace carries, and Singleton has a chance to factor in as a rookie, but Pollard should maintain steady volume in the final season of the three-year deal he inked with Tennessee in March of 2024.
