  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Dealing with back injury

Hamilton (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Hamilton may have tweaked his back during Jacksonville's Week 9 overtime win over Las Vegas, when he played 41 snaps (37 on defense, four on special teams) without recording a tackle. He'll have two more opportunities to practice in full and avoid an injury tag heading into Sunday's game against Houston. The 2020 third-rounder has 17 tackles (seven solo) through eight regular-season games.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Makes career-high 62 tackles

Hamilton racked up 62 tackles (34 solo) across 17 regular-season games with the Jaguars in 2024. Hamilton enjoyed a career year in terms of production, but as was the case largely across the board for Jacksonville's defense, he struggled to emerge as a true difference maker. He has two years remaining on his deal with the Jaguars, though the team has a potential out after the 2025 campaign. Hamilton has now logged back-to-back seasons without recording a single sack.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Set to return for Week 8

The Jaguars activated Hamilton (back) from injured reserve Saturday. The 2020 third-round pick out of Ohio State will now be in line to make his season debut after being placed on injured reserve at the end of training camp. Hamilton played in all 17 games last season for the Jaguars and registered 56 tackles (27 solo), 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He'll add strength to the team's interior defensive line alongside Roy Robertson-Harris and Adam Gotsis.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Not ready for return

Hamilton (back) will not make his season debut in Sunday's game against the Colts. Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. The Jaguars designated Hamilton for a return Thursday, but it looks like they are going to ease him back into the swing of things. He has a 21-day practice window to return, so there is no need to rush him out there. The 26-year-old nose tackle is expected to give the Jaguars' interior defensive trenches a notable boost upon his return.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Not going to London

Hamilton (back) will not be taking the trip to London and will miss each of the team's next two games, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports. Hamilton would have been eligible to be activated from injured reserve before the team's Week 5 matchup with the Bills in London, but he'll remain in Jacksonville to continue training for his return. This would leave Week 6 against the Colts as his next likeliest return date, although there's still no guarantee the Ohio State product will be ready by then.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Nearing return

Hamilton (back) could return next week, according to head coach Doug Pederson, J.P. Shadrick of the Jaguars' official site reports. Hamilton's back spasms have plagued him throughout training camp. After initially being sidelined at the start, he returned to practice in early August before being shut down again. Hamilton is expected to play a pivotal role along the defensive front this season after signing a three-year, $34.5 million extension in the offseason.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Practicing once again

Hamilton (back) practiced Wednesday, John Shipley of SI.com reports. Hamilton dealt with back spasms to start camp, but he's back to full health and has been standing out in practices. The 26-year-old is having the best camp of his career according to Shipley, frequently dominating in one-on-one drills while also providing constant pressure in team sessions. He should be the team's primary nose tackle after securing a three-year, $34.5 million contract extension in April.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Deemed questionable for Sunday

Hamilton (foot) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Colts. Hamilton presumably picked up a foot injury during the team's Week 5 win over Houston and was limited at each practice ahead of Week 6. If he's unable to suit up Sunday, expect Corey Peters to garner increased snaps in the middle of Jacksonville's defensive line.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Lands on COVID list

Jacksonville placed Hamilton on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after he tested positive for the virus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Hamilton finds himself on the COVID-19 list a day after recording five tackles (three solo) in a loss to the Jets. Jay Tufele should see more run at nose tackle while Hamilton is sidelined.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Injures knee Sunday

Hamilton was carted off the field with a knee injury during Sunday's loss to the Browns, John Shipley of SI.com reports. The rookie third-rounder was quickly ruled out of the game following he injury. He's been a major factor on Jacksonville's defense his season, consistently playing a majority of the snaps on defense. The team should update his condition over the next couple of days.

  • Jaguars' Davon Hamilton: Joins Jacksonville in third round

The Jaguars selected Hamilton in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 73rd overall. Hamilton (6-foot-4, 320) is a gap-holding tackle out of Ohio State, but one with some hints of disruptiveness in his otherwise anchor-oriented profile. Hamilton's 29.5-inch vertical was slightly above average even without adjusting for his uncommonly dense frame, and he posted six sacks last year (10.5 TFL) in 14 games.
