  • Al-Hajj Shabazz: Let go by Baltimore

    Shabazz (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the Ravens on Monday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun reports.

    The nature and severity of Shabazz's injury remains unknown, but since he was already considered unlikely to win a roster spot, even a minor setback would have quashed his chances. The Ravens signed cornerback Trevin Wade to assume Shabazz's spot on the training camp roster.

    Shabazz signed a contract Monday with the Ravens, Garrett Downing of BaltimoreRavens.com reports.

    Shabazz, a former Steelers cornerback, heads to Baltimore in the wake of Tavon Young's season-ending ACL tear. The 24-year-old has also spent time with the Colts, Buccaneers and Texans, seeing most of his time as a member of the practice squad. He'll now look to secure a depth spot on the Ravens' 53-man roster in training camp.
