Manertz is re-signing with the Giants on a one-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The Giants have re-signed the veteran tight end rather than allowing Manhertz to hit free agency. He's expected to continue filling a depth role in 2026 after appearing in all 17 games during the 2025 season but contributing just one catch.

Manhertz has suited up for all 14 of the Giants' games this season but has seen more playing time on special teams than offense in recent weeks. Manhertz is dealing with an illness and has been limited at each of New York's first two practice sessions to begin the week. It still seems more likely than not that he'll be able to play Sunday versus San Francisco, though he may enter the weekend with an injury status if he's not able to log a full practice Friday. Manhertz typically works in a blocking role and has just one catch on one target for seven yards through eight games this season.

Manhertz underwent surgery after sustaining a finger injury in the Giants' 2024 season finale, but it now appears he's moved past the issue. The 33-year-old from Canisius appeared in all 17 of New York's games last season, catching three passes for 30 yards and one touchdown across 329 offensive snaps. He's expected to remain one of the team's top reserve tight ends in 2025.

Manhertz played in all 17 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with three catches (on four targets) for 30 yards and one touchdown. He suffered ligament ruptures to his finger in Week 18 against the Eagles, but he is expected to be available for offseason programs after undergoing surgery to repair the issue.
