Lorenzo Taliaferro: Released by Ravens
Taliaferro was released by the Ravens on Friday, ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports.
The Ravens began the process of paring their roster down to 53 men Friday, releasing nine players early in the day. Taliaferro, a fourth-round selection by the team in 2014, had made the switch to fullback this preseason to up his chances at making the final roster. However, a lack of feel for his new position coupled with mediocre rushing totals (15 carries, 31 yards) made Taliaferro expendable.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Moves to fullback
Taliaferro has been moved to fullback, which helps his chances of breaking camp on the Ravens' 53-man roster, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Kyle Juszczyk's departure this offseason left Baltimore with a hole at fullback, but Taliaferro (6-foot, 225 pounds) is a logical replacement at the position given his size and backfield experience. Still, a move to fullback negates much of Taliaferro's fantasy value as he's never shown to have the pass catching acumen that Juszczyk brought to the fullback spot. Hensley adds that Taliaferro will have to beat out Ricky Ortiz to lock up what will likely be the only fullback spot available on the roster.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Could get a look at H-back
Taliaferro (hamstring) could get a look in the fullback/H-back role vacated by Kyle Juszczyk, The Baltimore Sun reports.
Taliaferro seems to be buried on the depth chart at running back, leaving him with no clear path to the final roster unless injuries hit the Baltimore backfield hard during training camp. It would thus make sense to at least give the 225-pounder a look at fullback/H-Back, which along with work on special teams might give him a real shot at making the roster. A 2014 fourth-round selection, Taliaferro has flashed some promise as a power runner when given the opportunity, but lower-body injuries cut each of his three professional seasons short. While last season's hamstring injury probably won't linger into this season, it's a stretch to think Taliaferro can actually replace Kyle Juszczyk, who parlayed his versatility into a four-year, $21 million deal with the 49ers. Even if there's little reason to believe Taliaferro can match Juszczyk's contributions as a lead blocker or pass catcher, it is possible a poor approximation could be enough to warrant one of the final roster spots.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Heads to injured reserve
The Ravens placed Taliaferro (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
For the third consecutive season, Taliaferro will be a member of the Ravens' IR list. On this occasion, he managed just three appearances on the campaign due to his placement on the PUP list at the start of the season with a foot injury and his current bout with a hamstring concern.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Ruled out Monday night
Taliaferro (thigh) is ruled out of Monday night's game against the Patriots, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Taliaferro wasn't at practice again this week and will now miss his fourth straight game. Consequently, the Ravens' backfield duties will continue to be handled by a trio of Terrance West, Kenneth Dixon and Javorius Allen.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Unlikely to play Monday
Taliaferro (thigh) did not practice on Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Taliaferro hasn't officially been ruled out for Monday's game against New England but it's unlikely that he's able to play. Look for Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon to handle the majority of Baltimore's running back duties once again.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Not practicing Thursday
Taliaferro (thigh) did not participate in Thursday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Taliaferro has missed the last three games with the thigh issue and being a non-participant this late in the week is surely not encouraging for his status on Sunday. Regardless of whether the tailback is made active or not, however, Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon would still lead the Ravens' Week 14 rushing attack.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Inactive for Week 12
Taliaferro (thigh) is inactive for Sunday's Week 12 matchup with the Bengals, ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley reports.
Taliaferro will be sidelined for a second straight game with the thigh injury, which prevented him from practicing all week. He'll be buried on the depth chart upon his return to full health, so it's not expected that he'll pick up enough touches to make much of a fantasy impact.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Doubtful to play
Taliaferro (thigh) is doubtful to play Sunday against the Bengals, CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
Taliaferro didn't play last week and appears close to drawing a second consecutive DNP. If he's ultimately ruled out, Terrance West, Kenneth Dixon and Javorius Allen will continue to comprise the Ravens' backfield.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Does not practice Wednesday
Taliaferro (thigh) did not practice Wednesday.
Taliaferro spent a majority of the season on the PUP list with a foot injury, and got injured soon after returning to game action. Once Taliaferro is able to return, he will sit behind Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon on the Ravens' running back depth chart and likely won't see many snaps, barring an injury to the aforementioned players.

Ravens' Lorenzo Taliaferro: Inactive for Sunday's game
Taliaferro (thigh) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
After sitting out practices Thursday and Friday with the thigh injury, Taliaferro was never considered to have a great shot at suiting up in Week 11. The third-year running back is buried on the depth chart behind Terrance West, Kenneth Dixon and Javorius Allen and may have been a healthy inactive even if he had been available to play.
