Ravens' Ja'Wuan James: Placed on IR
James (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
James suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Sunday's win over the Jets, putting an early end to his season. The 30-year-old missed all of last year with an Achilles issue as well. The Ravens will remain thin at tackle until Ronnie Stanley (ankle) is ready to return.

Ravens' Ja'Wuan James: Suffers significant injury
James tore his left Achilles tendon according to head coach John Harbaugh, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
James joined the Ravens last offseason and missed the entire year due to an Achilles injury. Now he'll miss the rest of the 2022 season with a similar injury. James was starting at left tackle in place of Ronnie Staley, who is still recovering from a 2021 season-ending ankle injury.

James will not be able to return after suffering what appears to be a significant ankle injury during Sunday's contest. This loss will leave Baltimore's already depleted offensive line even more undermanned with fellow left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) also inactive against New York. James had to be carted off the field after going down with an ankle injury during the first half of Sunday's contest, according to Kaye. The 2014 first-round pick started in place of injured left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) against the Jets.

James was signed by Baltimore this offseason, but he has spent the entire season on the non-football injury list. He actually hasn't seen game action since 2019 after opting out of the 2020 campaign due to concerns over COVID-19. His return to practice marks the beginning of the 21-day period for him to be added to the active roster. However, if he isn't, he will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Ravens' Ja'Wuan James: Progressing in recovery
James (Achilles) was spotted working out with a trainer on an open field Thursday, and coach John Harbuagh said James could be back as soon as December, Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Sun reports.
James hasn't suited up since Week 14 of the 2019 season, but he had been in line to start at right tackle for the Broncos prior to tearing his Achilles and subsequently getting released. The Ravens signed him two a two-year contract post-injury and James could be in the mix for a starting role once he's cleared to return.
