  • Ravens' Steven Johnson: Heading to Baltimore

Johnson signed with the Ravens on Tuesday.

Johnson spent some time with the Steelers earlier in the season and will now join the division-rival Ravens. He'll most likely play a special teams role until he gets acclimated with the Ravens defense.

  • Steven Johnson: Released by Steelers

Johnson was released by Pittsburgh on Saturday, the team's official site reports.

The veteran was let go in order to make room for the activation of L.J. Fort from the practice squad. Given his track record, it wouldn't be surprising if he lands elsewhere sooner than later.

  • Steelers' Steven Johnson: Headed back to Pittsburgh

Johnson signed a contract with the Steelers on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Johnson, who was let go by the Steelers one day before Sunday's season-opening win over the Browns, will rejoin the team to provide further depth at linebacker. It's expected that the 29-year-old will see most of his snaps on the Steelers' special teams units.

  • Steven Johnson: Let go by Steelers

Johnson was released by the Steelers on Saturday.

Somebody on the 53-man roster needed to be let go in order to fully activate the returning Le'Veon Bell, and Johnson was the odd man out. The 29-year-old figures to be a candidate to land on the team's practice squad.

  • Steelers' Steven Johnson: Absent from injury report

Johnson (hamstring) doesn't appear on Wednesday's injury report.

Johnson's preseason hamstring injury seems to be a thing of the past. However, he's entering the season as nothing more than a reserve linebacker and is firmly off the IDP radar.

  • Steelers' Steven Johnson: Leaves Sunday's game with hamstring injury

Johnson left Sunday's game against the Falcons with a left hamstring injury, Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Johnson exited in the first half of Sunday's contest and didn't return. With the linebacker coming off a season in which he landed on injured reserve with an ankle injury, the Steelers will likely exercise caution with him in order to avoid a possible setback before the start of the regular season.

  • Steelers' Steven Johnson: Active for preseason opener

Johnson (ankle) was active for last Friday's preseason game against the Giants.

Johnson was placed on injured reserve last November after hurting his ankle in the Steelers' bout with the Cowboys, but he made his return to the field Friday and managed to record two tackles. It appears as though the reserve linebacker will be fully healthy for the start of the regular season.
