Top Jack Kayil News

  • Knicks' Jack Kayil: Team-high 19 points

Kayil had 19 points (6-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four assists, one rebound and three steals in Monday's 86-75 Summer League win over the Pistons.

Kayil led the Knicks in points and steals Monday. The rookie second-rounder is without an NBA contract and could be stashed in Germany for the upcoming season, though it's possible New York could still use one of its two-way roster spots on Kayil in 2026-27.

  • Knicks' Jack Kayil: Selected No. 39 by New York

The Rockets selected Kayil with the No. 39 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and traded his rights to the Knicks, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.

Kayil spent the past season playing professionally in Germany, and he helped his team, Alba Berlin, earn a second-place regular-season finish while operating as a key cog on offense. Kayil has the option to stay in Germany for one more season, so this could be a draft-and-stash move from New York.
