  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Set to undergo surgery

Porter sustained a right knee meniscus injury while going through on-court work Thursday, which will require a minor orthopedic procedure that will keep him sidelined for at least four weeks. Porter's absence may extend beyond this four-week window, so he's a cut candidate in re-draft leagues. Ryan Rollins has been on fire as a starter as of late, so Porter will have some competition for the starting point guard spot once he is eventually able to make it back to the court.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Absence streak to continue

Porter (ankle) won't play in Saturday's game against the Kings. It'll be a fifth straight game on the shelf for Porter, who continues to be hampered by a sprained ankle. His next chance to return comes Monday in Indiana. Ryan Rollins has been on a tear and is perhaps running away with the top spot at point guard in Porter's stead, with the former averaging 21.0 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game across his last four appearances.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Won't play Thursday

Porter (ankle) is out for Thursday's game against the Warriors. A sprained left ankle will cost Porter a fourth consecutive contest. Fantasy managers can deem the guard day-to-day ahead of Saturday's matchup with the Kings. The Bucks will likely remain inclined to ride a hot-hand approach between Ryan Rollins and Cole Anthony at point guard for the time being, with Rollins functioning from the first unit.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Remaining out Tuesday

Porter (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Knicks. Porter suffered a left ankle sprain in the season opener Wednesday against the Wizards and will now miss his third straight game. Ryan Rollins has started the past two contests and played well, so he should continue handling point-guard duties, with Cole Anthony (illness) also factoring into the mix if available.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: To miss upcoming road trip

The team confirmed Thursday that Porter is dealing with a left ankle sprain, and he'll miss Milwaukee's next two games against Toronto and Cleveland. Porter had already been officially ruled out for Friday's matchup with the Raptors, so this update confirms that he'll miss the Bucks' two-game road trip. This means he could potentially be back for Tuesday's game against the Knicks, but additional updates on his status should come as he nears a return to play.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Ruled out vs. Toronto

Porter (ankle) is out for Friday's game against Toronto. The Bucks are awaiting Porter's MRI results after the guard sprained his ankle in Wednesday's win over the Wizards. Fantasy managers can deem him day-to-day until the severity of the injury is determined. Ryan Rollins will likely start at point guard Friday, and Cole Anthony should see a boost in playing time against the Raptors.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: To undergo MRI

Porter will undergo an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of his left ankle injury, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. Head coach Doc Rivers said postgame that Porter's ankle sprain looked "pretty bad," and the point guard will undergo further testing Thursday. Porter poured in 10 points in nine minutes before exiting Wednesday's contest after stepping on Bobby Portis's foot. Ryan Rollins started the second half in place of Porter, and it looks like Rollins and Cole Anthony would handle most of the point guard duties if Porter misses time. Milwaukee faces Toronto on Friday.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Won't return due to ankle sprain

Porter has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against Washington due to a left ankle sprain, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. Porter rolled his ankle by stepping on Bobby Portis's foot early in the contest, and he's been ruled out for the rest of the way. Porter finishes the game with 10 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists and one steal in nine minutes. Look for Cole Anthony and Ryan Rollins to handle most of the point guard duties for the remainder of the contest. Porter's next chance to play will come Friday at Toronto.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Departs to locker room

Porter went to the locker room during Wednesday's game against the Wizards with an apparent leg injury, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. Porter stepped on Bobby Portis's foot, and after lying on the floor for a short period, Porter got up and walked to the locker room under his own power. While Porter is out, Cole Anthony and Ryan Rollins could see more minutes.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Efficient from deep in defeat

Porter posted 15 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and four assists across 24 minutes in Tuesday's 116-112 preseason loss to the Thunder. Porter delivered an efficient performance from beyond the arc and led the starters in triples. Additionally, the 25-year-old finished as the team's third-leading scorer and matched the team-high in assists. Porter is expected to start at point guard this season after primarily providing a spark off the bench for the Bucks in the 2024-25 campaign. He appeared in 30 regular-season games (two starts) for Milwaukee last season, averaging 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals across 20.0 minutes per game during that span.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Serviceable effort Thursday

Porter amassed 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 0-3 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes during Thursday's preseason win over Detroit. Porter got the starting nod once again, an indication that he could be running with the starters come Opening Night. While he was perfect from the floor, he missed all three of his free-throw attempts and offered very little outside of the scoring. While he does appear to be the front-runner for the starting job, holding onto the job is far from a formality. Both Cole Anthony and Ryan Rollins are seemingly worthy contenders and will be doing their utmost to supplant Porter at some point.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Efficient in preseason win

Porter finished with 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 FT), four assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block across 15 minutes in Monday's 103-93 preseason win over the Heat. Porter didn't post eye-popping numbers but was efficient to open the preseason. The 25-year-old is competing for the starting point guard job and should continue to get opportunities to prove himself, especially with Cole Anthony (face) exiting Monday's contest early -- his availability moving forward will be worth monitoring.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Sticking with Bucks

Porter agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract with the Bucks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Porter declined his $2.5 million player option Saturday, but he'll hang around in Milwaukee after inking a two-year deal. The 24-year-old stepped into a bigger role when Damian Lillard (Achilles) was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in late March, and Porter closed out the campaign averaging 14.1 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 26.7 minutes across his final 17 games (12 regular season, five playoff). With Lillard waived this offseason, Porter should be penciled in as Milwaukee's starting point guard.

  • Kevin Porter: Set to enter free agency

Porter informed the Bucks on Saturday that he will decline his $2.5 million player option for the 2025-26 season, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. Porter signed a two-year contract with the Clippers in June of 2024 but was traded the Bucks in February. He saw a consistent role off the Bucks' bench, and across 30 regular-season games (two starts) he averaged 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals over 19.9 minutes per game. Porter is just 25 years old and should garner interest from teams looking to add a scoring punch to the bench.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Scores 11 in start

Porter closed with 11 points (4-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 47 minutes during Tuesday's 119-118 overtime loss to the Pacers in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. With Damian Lillard (Achilles) on the shelf, Porter was inserted into the starting lineup as part of several rotation tweaks by coach Doc Rivers. For the most part, he had a decent showing alongside AJ Green in the backcourt. Porter holds a $2.55 million player option for 2025-26, and he could find himself with a lot of fantasy upside if he sticks around with the Bucks in the absence of Lillard.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Starting Game 5

Porter will start in Tuesday's Game 5 against the Pacers. Porter has come off the bench for the first four games of the series but will enter the starting lineup with Damian Lillard (Achilles) out. The 24-year-old has played significant minutes against the Pacers, averaging 25.8 minutes along with 11.3 points, 5.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game in the series.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Pours in 23 points in loss

Porter closed with 23 points (9-17 FG, 5-7 3Pt), six assists, five rebounds and two steals over 33 minutes during Sunday's 129-103 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Porter led Milwaukee's second unit in points during the loss, finishing as the club's second-leading scorer. The 24-year-old played a series-high 33 minutes after Damian Lillard (lower leg) exited the game in the first quarter. With the Bucks trailing 3-1, they'll need Porter to step up, especially if Lillard remains sidelined. Porter has averaged 11.3 points, 5.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 0.8 steals across 25.8 minutes per game during the first round.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Plays well off bench

Porter contributed nine points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt), one rebound and three assists in 15 minutes during Tuesday's 123-115 loss to the Pacers in Game 2 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Porter was a bright spot off the bench for Milwaukee, but saw a total of just 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Gary Trent logged 30 minutes off the bench but had four points on 1-of-4 shooting. With the Bucks trailing 0-2, it will be interesting to see what tweaks coach Doc Rivers will make to his rotation.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Good to go for Game 1

Porter (wrist) isn't on the injury report for Saturday's Game 1 against the Pacers. Porter sat out Milwaukee's regular-season finale but is set to play Saturday. Porter has averaged 16.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 25.5 minutes across his previous 10 appearances.

  • Bucks' Kevin Porter: Won't play Sunday

Porter (wrist) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pistons, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. Porter will join five other Bucks players on the bench for Sunday's regular-season finale, but he should be available for the start of the postseason. Jamaree Bouyea and Andre Jackson should see a significant increase in playing time in Porter's absence.
