Top Rocco Zikarsky News

  • Timberwolves' Rocco Zikarsky: Scores 18 points in SL loss

Zikarsky recorded 18 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and six rebounds in 24 minutes during Monday's 111-84 Summer League loss to the Trail Blazers.

After scoring just six points on 3-for-11 shooting in Saturday's loss to Denver, Zikarsky delivered an efficient performance Monday and finished as Minnesota's second-leading scorer, knocking down two triples. The 7-foot-3 center also finished second on the Timberwolves in rebounds. The two-way player appeared in only five regular-season games with the parent club last season, though he could see increased run in the NBA this season with Naz Reid no longer on the team.

  • Timberwolves' Rocco Zikarsky: Rejoins parent club

The Timberwolves recalled Zikarsky from the G League's Iowa Wolves on Thursday.

Zikarsky will rejoin the parent club ahead of Friday's game versus the Mavericks, but with the Minnesota frontcourt at full strength coming out of the All-Star break, the rookie big man is uncertain to be active for the contest. The two-way rookie out of Australia is still waiting to make his NBA debut.

  • Timberwolves' Rocco Zikarsky: Moved down to G League

The Timberwolves assigned Zikarsky to their G League affiliate on Sunday.

Zikarsky was brought up from the G League on Tuesday but didn't appear in an NBA game. The 45th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft has yet to make his NBA debut.

  • Timberwolves' Rocco Zikarsky: Recalled to NBA

Minnesota recalled Zikarsky from the G League's Iowa Wolves on Tuesday.

Zikarsky is rejoining the Timberwolves after posting 11 points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds, an assist and two blocks across 19 minutes in Monday's 132-104 G League win over the Westchester Knicks. Zikarsky has yet to appear in an NBA game this season and will likely not play Tuesday, but he will continue to split time between the two clubs throughout the season.

  • Timberwolves' Rocco Zikarsky: Available for season opener

Zikarsky (face) is available for Wednesday's season opener against Portland.

Minnesota included Zikarsky on the injury report because he'll be wearing a face mask Wednesday. The two-way player is behind Rudy Gobert, Naz Reid and Joan Beringer on the depth chart at center, so Zikarsky likely won't take the court against the Trail Blazers.

  • Timberwolves' Rocco Zikarsky: Strong showing off bench

Zikarsky totaled 16 points (6-7 FG, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 26 minutes during Monday night's 134-74 preseason win over the Guangzhou Loong-Lions.

This was quite the outburst from Zikarsky, who was held to only two points in 14 minutes during his club's previous exhibition against the Knicks on Thursday. He's unlikely to have much of a fantasy impact heading into the 2025-26 regular season considering he's behind Rudy Gobert, Naz Reid and Joan Beringer on the depth chart, likely opening the door for plenty of minutes in the G League.

  • Timberwolves' Rocco Zikarsky: Lands with Minnesota

Zikarsky was selected by the Bulls with the No. 45 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Bulls then traded his rights to the Timberwolves.

A 7-foot-3 center with a 9-foot-7 standing reach, Zikarsky offers tremendous potential as a rim protector. The 18-year-old from Australia possesses good mobility for his size and is a strong finisher, but a lack of lateral speed and an unreliable outside shot could prevent him from emerging as a starter at the NBA level. With Rudy Gobert on the books for at least two more seasons and with the Timberwolves investing a first-round pick in another center in Joan Beringer, Zikarsky won't be needed to contribute right away. According to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com, Zikarsky will sign a two-year, two-way deal with Minnesota, meaning that he'll likely see most of his playing time over the next two seasons in the G League with the Iowa Wolves.
