Ulrich Chomche: Waived Thursday
Chomche was waived by the Raptors on Thursday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Chomche didn't actually suit up for Toronto during the preseason due to an undisclosed injury, and that impacted his ability to make the Opening Night roster. Per Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca, Chomche needs to be evaluated by the league's fitness-to-play panel in order to return to action. He'll likely head to the G League if he doesn't land another NBA contract by Opening Night.

Chomche hasn't played in the preseason yet due to an undisclosed injury. The two-way player likely won't be part of the opening night rotation, so if his injury lingers, it won't have much of an impact. His next chance to play will come Friday.

Raptors' Ulrich Chomche: Expected to play in Summer League
Head coach Darko Rajakovic anticipates watching Chomche (knee) play in the Las Vegas Summer League in July, Esfandiar Baraheni of The Athletic reports.
Chomche missed the second half of the season due to an MCL tear in his right knee, but he's expected to fully recover well in advance of the 2025-26 campaign. The rookie second-rounder made just seven appearances with Toronto during his first year in the NBA. Still, he averaged 8.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in 24.0 minutes while shooting 54.9 percent from the field over 19 outings (one start) with the G League's Raptors 905. With Chris Boucher set for unrestricted free agency, Chomche could be auditioning for the backup center role behind Jakob Poeltl this offseason.

Raptors' Ulrich Chomche: Done for season with MCL tear
Chomche was diagnosed Wednesday with a partial proximal MCL tear in his right knee and will miss the remainder of the season, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Per Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca, Chomche suffered the injury during his most recent appearance with the G League's Raptors 905 in a 130-116 loss to the Cleveland Charge last Thursday, when a teammate fell on his leg. Though his rookie season will come to an end, the Raptors are hopeful that Chomche can complete his rehab in advance of the Las Vegas Summer League in July. While playing under a two-way deal this season, the No. 57 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft appeared in just seven games for Toronto, averaging 0.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 4.6 minutes per contest.

Raptors' Ulrich Chomche: Barely visible Wednesday
Chomche posted no counting stats in one minute during Wednesday's 130-113 win over the Nets.
Chomche played one minute during garbage time, bringing his season total to just 20 minutes. To this point, he has scored two points, offering very little in terms of viable production. With the Raptors starting to get healthy players back on the floor, the path to minutes for Chomche is basically non-existent.

Raptors' Ulrich Chomche: Selected No. 57 by Toronto
The Raptors selected Chomche with the No. 57 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday.
While Chomche doesn't have a ton of experience, he does have an impressive frame at 6-foot-10, 232 pounds with a 7-foot-4 wingspan. There's not a ton to his game at the moment, but he has the potential to develop into a defensive menace, and he's shown promise in the passing department. He's a project out of Cameroon, so he can safely be ignored in fantasy hoops in the short term.
