Robinson continues to crash the glass during his limited time on the floor in Abu Dhabi. Robinson finished with seven points (3-6 FG, 1-2 FT), 16 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 18 minutes during Thursday's 99-84 win over the 76ers. Robinson was a monster on the boards during the team's preseason opener in Abu Dhabi, ripping down a game-high total by far in only 18 minutes on the floor. The veteran center had the most eye-popping performance during this matchup, which is a good sign for New York moving forward.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Starting preseason opener

Robinson will start Thursday's preseason opener against the 76ers, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports. Reports of Robinson supplanting Josh Hart in the starting lineup during Mike Brown's first season as head coach were frequent this offseason, and it has come to fruition during the preseason opener. Hart has been dealing with a finger injury, but he's expected to play through it and operate as New York's sixth man in 2025-26.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Status for back-to-backs uncertain

Robinson isn't sure what his status will be for back-to-back situations during the 2025-26 season, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports. Robinson played in only 17 regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign due to an ankle injury. However, the veteran center was able to return for the playoffs, playing in 18 games and starting four of those appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers. He averaged 4.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, shooting 60.8 percent from the field during the postseason. Considering his struggles to stay healthy over the course of his career, he'll always be a risk from a fantasy perspective.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Grabs nine boards in loss

Robinson produced eight points (4-5 FG), nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 30 minutes during Saturday's 125-108 loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Robinson provided a solid stat line in the loss as the Knicks were eliminated in a 4-2 series loss to Indiana. The big man received an increased role in the series (four starts), averaging 5.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals while shooting 78.9 percent from the field across 24.7 minutes per game. Robinson missed an extended period at the start of the season after undergoing ankle surgery in May 2024. He is entering the final year of his contract after playing in just 17 regular-season games, finishing with averages of 5.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, 0.9 steals and 0.8 assists across 17.1 minutes per contest.

Robinson started for the third straight game, although once again failed to play more than 20 minutes. Despite the recent promotion, Robinson's numbers have remained largely underwhelming. In that three-game span, he has averaged 6.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Thursday's victory ensures there will be a Game 6, scheduled for Saturday in Indiana.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Quiet despite starting role

Robinson accumulated six points (3-4 FG), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Sunday's 106-100 victory over Indiana in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Robinson replaced Josh Hart in the starting lineup, a move that ultimately led to a much-needed victory. Despite the starting tag, Robinson's production remained somewhat underwhelming. However, his impact on the defensive end helped limit the Pacers to just 100 points, which won't be lost on the coaching staff. The two teams will meet again Tuesday, with New York looking to level the series at 2-2.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Starting Game 3

Robinson will start Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Sunday, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports. The Knicks will change things up for Game 3, with Robinson replacing Josh Hart in the starting lineup. Robinson has provided great minutes for New York throughout the series, averaging 4.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in 25.0 minutes per game through two contests. However, most of his impact, such as creating extra possessions on offense and disrupting shots on the other end, has not shown up in the stat sheet. Robinson should see ample run in Game 3, but it remains to be seen just how much his role will change, considering he played a significant 29 minutes in Game 2.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Could move to starting role

Robinson could move into a starting role for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Sunday, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports. Some of the best moments for the Knicks in this series against the Pacers have come when Robinson is on the floor, and head coach Tom Thibodeau might aim to capitalize on that by starting the big man. It's believed that Robinson would replace Josh Hart, who struggled mightily in Game 2 on Friday, in the starting unit.

Robinson racked up one point (1-2 FT), four rebounds and one steal in 14 minutes during Friday's 119-81 win over Boston in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. While his box score won't reflect it, Robinson was a menace on the defensive end Friday. The Knicks are essentially using an eight-man rotation in the playoffs, and that's likely to be the case against Indiana in the Eastern Conference Finals. In 12 postseason games, Robinson holds averages of 4.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in 18.5 minutes.

Robinson failed to make an impact offensively in Game 1, scoring all three of his points at the free-throw line. Robinson shook off a questionable tag prior to this contest due to an illness, but credit to him for pushing through.
