Nets' Michael Porter: Another productive showing Wednesday
Porter finished with 27 points (9-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal over 27 minutes in Wednesday's 144-128 preseason loss to Miami.
Porter had 22 points in Monday's win over the Wizards. He played even better Wednesday, leading both teams in scoring. The 28-year-old has performed at an All-Star level throughout the preseason, and while that trend could continue during the regular season, his durability remains a cause for concern.

Nets' Michael Porter: Drops 22 points in preseason win
Porter produced 22 points (8-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, two steals and one block across 24 minutes in Monday's 131-122 preseason win over the Wizards.
After a one-game absence due to wrist soreness, Porter returned to action and paced the Nets in scoring. The veteran forward is coming off a 2025-26 campaign in which he averaged 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals across 52 appearances. He'll look to remain a high-level scoring threat entering his second regular season in Brooklyn.

Nets' Michael Porter: Set to return Monday
Porter (wrist) is good to go for Monday's preseason game against the Wizards, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
As expected, Porter is back after missing Thursday's preseason game due to wrist soreness. Presumably, the Nets were simply being cautious for the exhibition.

Nets' Michael Porter: Sitting out Thursday
Porter will not play in Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia due to left wrist soreness, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Porter's absence comes after he scored 16 points in Tuesday's preseason win over Charlotte. The Nets haven't indicated whether the wrist issue will affect his availability beyond Thursday, though his next opportunity to play will come in Brooklyn's next exhibition contest.

Nets' Michael Porter: Strong line in preseason
Porter finished with 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 17 minutes during Tuesday's 124-90 preseason win over Charlotte.
Porter started at small forward and led Brooklyn in scoring despite playing fewer than 17 minutes. His four three-pointers also led the Nets, and the veteran forward should remain one of Brooklyn's primary perimeter scoring threats this season.

Nets' Michael Porter: Wants to improve off ball
Porter said his goal this season is to become the best off-ball player in the NBA, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports.
The forward believes his cutting and catch-and-shoot ability give him the tools to reach that level, though he emphasized that conditioning will be an important factor. Porter should have plenty of opportunities to showcase those skills as he looks to have another significant role with Brooklyn.

Nets' Michael Porter: Could see fewer touches
Porter (hamstring) could see his offensive role shift after the Nets acquired Julius Randle, who figures to become one of the focal points of Brooklyn's half-court offense, Sameer Kumar of SI.com reports.
While Porter should continue to benefit from Randle's ability to draw defensive attention, Randle's high-usage style may reduce Porter's shot volume after he emerged as the team's top-scoring option last season. Porter should still have plenty of fantasy appeal due to his elite shooting and rebounding, but his scoring upside may take a slight hit if Randle dominates possessions as expected.
