The Pelicans are expected to re-evaluate Poole in the near future, though the guard won't be cleared in time for Friday. Fantasy managers can consider him doubtful for Saturday's matchup against the Hawks unless the team provides a fresh update. Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Making progress, out another week
The Pelicans announced Friday that Poole (quadriceps) will be re-assessed in approximately one week.
Poole was evaluated Friday, and while the evaluation showed he's been making progress in his recovery from a strained left quad, he'll be sidelined for at least another week. If the 26-year-old can return exactly a week from Friday, he could appear in a road game against Dallas. In the meantime, Jeremiah Fears should hold down point guard duties while Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins could see a bump in playing time.

Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Out 7-10 days
The Pelicans announced Friday that Poole has been diagnosed with a mild left quadriceps strain, and he will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.
This is a tough break for Poole and the Pelicans. Based on this timeline, the earliest possible return date is Nov. 16 against the Thunder, but that's far from a guarantee. With Poole joining Zion Williamson (hamstring) on the sidelines for the next week, Trey Murphy is likely to soak up even more usage, and Jeremiah Fears will have a pretty large runway to make some noise. Additionally, guys like Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins could find themselves with more opportunities.

Poole (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks.
Poole was initially deemed questionable due to left knee soreness, and the ailment will result in his first absence of the campaign. Look for Jordan Hawkins and Jose Alvarado to see a bump in playing time, while Jeremiah Fears could be leaned on even more offensively. Poole's next chance to play will come Saturday at San Antonio.

Poole supplied 30 points (9-15 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one block in 33 minutes off the bench during Friday's 126-124 loss to the Clippers.
Making his second straight appearance off the bench, Poole erupted for his first 30-point performance of the season as he led the Pelicans in scoring. Despite shooting below 50 percent from the field, Poole's performance was in line with what fantasy managers would expect. He crossed the 20-point threshold for the first time with the Pelicans during the overtime loss. Poole will try to help guide his new team to its first win of the season in the next game against the Celtics on Monday.

Poole registered 17 points (6-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two assists across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 128-122 loss to the Grizzlies.
While it appears to be a somewhat disappointing stat line from a fantasy standpoint, Poole was at least effective as a scorer in his Pelicans debut. The star guard isn't exactly known for his defense, or for stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis, but Poole does have an opportunity for extra playmaking duties until Dejounte Murray (Achilles) is ready to make his season debut.

Poole finished as the Pelicans' second-leading scorer while dishing out a team-high-tying four assists. However, the 26-year-old guard struggled from three-point range for a second consecutive preseason game, a span in which he's shot 2-for-11 from downtown. Poole is coming off a productive 2024-25 campaign with the Wizards where he averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc across 29.4 minutes per game in 68 regular-season outings.

From a usage rate perspective, there were no real surprises. Trey Murphy operated as the No. 1 option on offense, while Poole and Zion Williamson handled most of the playmaking with plenty of offensive looks as well. With Dejounte Murray's (Achilles) start to the season expected to be delayed until January at the earliest, Poole could see a ton of usage and reps early on.
