  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Remains out

Poole (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Hawks.

As expected, Poole remains sidelined for the second night of New Orleans' back-to-back set. He's due for re-evaluation soon, but until the team releases an update, Poole can be considered doubtful for future contests.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Still out vs. Mavericks

Poole (quadriceps) is out for Friday's game against the Mavericks, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.

The Pelicans are expected to re-evaluate Poole in the near future, though the guard won't be cleared in time for Friday. Fantasy managers can consider him doubtful for Saturday's matchup against the Hawks unless the team provides a fresh update. With Poole sidelined, Jeremiah Fears and Jose Alvarado should both remain in the streaming conversation.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Making progress, out another week

The Pelicans announced Friday that Poole (quadriceps) will be re-assessed in approximately one week.

Poole was evaluated Friday, and while the evaluation showed he's been making progress in his recovery from a strained left quad, he'll be sidelined for at least another week. If the 26-year-old can return exactly a week from Friday, he could appear in a road game against Dallas. In the meantime, Jeremiah Fears should hold down point guard duties while Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins could see a bump in playing time.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Out 7-10 days

The Pelicans announced Friday that Poole has been diagnosed with a mild left quadriceps strain, and he will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.

This is a tough break for Poole and the Pelicans. Based on this timeline, the earliest possible return date is Nov. 16 against the Thunder, but that's far from a guarantee. With Poole joining Zion Williamson (hamstring) on the sidelines for the next week, Trey Murphy is likely to soak up even more usage, and Jeremiah Fears will have a pretty large runway to make some noise. Additionally, guys like Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins could find themselves with more opportunities.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: No-go Wednesday

Poole (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks.

Poole was initially deemed questionable due to left knee soreness, and the ailment will result in his first absence of the campaign. Look for Jordan Hawkins and Jose Alvarado to see a bump in playing time, while Jeremiah Fears could be leaned on even more offensively. Poole's next chance to play will come Saturday at San Antonio.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Questionable for Tuesday

Poole (knee) is ruled questionable for Wednesday's game in Dallas.

Poole is a new addition to New Orleans' injury report after starting against Charlotte on Tuesday, but this may be a precaution as Wednesday's contest is the second leg of a back-to-back. If Poole can't go, expect Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins to see extended playing time as a result.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Starting Tuesday

Poole will start in Tuesday's game against the Hornets.

After coming off the bench in three straight games, the 26-year-old guard will return to the starting five with Zion Williamson (hamstring) sidelined. Over six regular-season appearances (three starts), Poole has averaged 18.3 points and 3.0 assists while shooting 37.6 percent from the field in 30.8 minutes per contest.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Drops 30 off bench Friday

Poole supplied 30 points (9-15 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one block in 33 minutes off the bench during Friday's 126-124 loss to the Clippers.

Making his second straight appearance off the bench, Poole erupted for his first 30-point performance of the season as he led the Pelicans in scoring. The seven threes equaled his total from the prior three games combined, and through five contests to begin his tenure with New Orleans, Poole is averaging 19.8 points, 3.4 threes, 3.0 assists and 1.8 boards in 32.2 minutes.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Bench role Wednesday

Poole will come off the bench during Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

After starting the first three games of the season, Poole will be in the second unit. The Pelicans will go with Jeremiah Fears, Trey Murphy, Herbert Jones, Zion Williamson and DeAndre Jordan in the first five.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Drops 21 in OT loss

Poole logged 21 points (8-20 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one block across 41 minutes during Friday's 120-116 overtime loss to the Spurs.

Despite shooting below 50 percent from the field, Poole's performance was in line with what fantasy managers would expect. He crossed the 20-point threshold for the first time with the Pelicans during the overtime loss. Poole will try to help guide his new team to its first win of the season in the next game against the Celtics on Monday.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Contributes 17 points in team debut

Poole registered 17 points (6-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two assists across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 128-122 loss to the Grizzlies.

While it appears to be a somewhat disappointing stat line from a fantasy standpoint, Poole was at least effective as a scorer in his Pelicans debut. The star guard isn't exactly known for his defense, or for stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis, but Poole does have an opportunity for extra playmaking duties until Dejounte Murray (Achilles) is ready to make his season debut.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Scores 21 points on 15 shots

Poole recorded 21 points (7-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two assists and one steal over 25 minutes during Thursday's 132-125 preseason loss to Orlando.

Poole has been aggressive on offense for the Pelicans throughout the preseason and will likely be the Opening Night starting point guard, as Dejounte Murray (Achilles) will miss at least a few months while rehabbing. Poole made 3.5 three-pointers per game while shooting 37.8 percent with Washington last year, both career-high marks.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Dishes out four assists Saturday

Poole chipped in 15 points (3-7 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four assists and two rebounds across 18 minutes in Saturday's 127-92 exhibition game win over the Melbourne Phoenix.

Poole finished as the Pelicans' second-leading scorer while dishing out a team-high-tying four assists. However, the 26-year-old guard struggled from three-point range for a second consecutive preseason game, a span in which he's shot 2-for-11 from downtown. Poole is coming off a productive 2024-25 campaign with the Wizards where he averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc across 29.4 minutes per game in 68 regular-season outings.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Scores 11 points in win

Poole finished with 11 points (3-9 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block across 20 minutes of Friday's 107-97 preseason win over Melbourne United.

From a usage rate perspective, there were no real surprises. Trey Murphy operated as the No. 1 option on offense, while Poole and Zion Williamson handled most of the playmaking with plenty of offensive looks as well. With Dejounte Murray's (Achilles) start to the season expected to be delayed until January at the earliest, Poole could see a ton of usage and reps early on.
