Pistons' John Collins: Stepping into key role
Collins could be the most significant offseason addition for the Pistons, per Coty M. Davis of The Detroit News.
Collins is replacing Tobias Harris, who left for San Antonio this summer, in the starting lineup this year. The veteran power forward is a strong lob threat and pick-and-roll big man, which could play well with Cade Cunningham running the show at point guard. Collins got off to a rough start last season but experienced a second-half turnaround from Jan. 1 onward, averaging 14.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 three-pointers per game while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor and 45.2 percent from downtown over his final 38 regular-season appearances.

Pistons' John Collins: Signing with Detroit
Collins agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract with the Pistons on Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
With Tobias Harris expected to leave this offseason, the Pistons found a new starting power forward in Collins, who's coming off a down year but has been steady throughout his career. Across nine seasons and three different teams, Collins has averaged 16.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.7 steals while posting 55/37/79 shooting splits.

Clippers' John Collins: Not starting vs. Golden State
Collins won't start Wednesday's Play-In Tournament game against the Warriors, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports.
With Kawhi Leonard (ankle) back in the lineup, Collins will slide to the second unit. Over 13 appearances off the bench during the regular season, he averaged 12.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 23.5 minutes per contest.
