  • Malcolm Cazalon: Let go by Detroit

The Pistons waived Cazalon on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Cazalon has made just one appearance for the Pistons this season, as he has spent most of 2023-24 with the Motor City Cruise of the G League. Cazalon's release will now open up a two-way roster spot for Detroit.

  • Pistons' Malcolm Cazalon: Tending to ankle sprain

Cazalon won't play Monday in the G League Motor City Cruise's game against the College Park Skyhawks due to a left ankle sprain, Blake Silverman of DetroitBadBoys.com reports.

Cazalon likely suffered the injury at some point during the Cruise's 92-85 win over College Park on Saturday, when he was limited to 17 minutes. The 22-year-old wing is one of the Pistons' three two-way players but has seen just three minutes at the NBA level in 2023-24.

  • Pistons' Malcolm Cazalon: Impressive off bench Friday

Cazalon finished with 16 points (6-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, four assists and a steal across 19 minutes off the bench in Friday's 114-104 preseason loss to the Mavericks.

Cazalon is playing on a two-way deal and is expected to open the season in the G League, but he had a couple of good moments in this preseason finale. He is not expected to hold a meaningful role for the Pistons on offense in the near future.
