Knicks' Matt Ryan: Signs Exhibit 10 deal
Ryan agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Knicks on Tuesday.
Ryan will rejoin the Knicks and compete for a spot on the team's regular-season roster, though it's more likely that he'll join their G League affiliate in Westchester for the 2025-26 campaign. The 28-year-old swingman signed a two-way deal with the club in December 2024 before being waived in March. He appeared in 19 regular-season games, during which he averaged 1.5 points across 3.6 minutes per contest.

Matt Ryan: Get cut loose

New York freed up two of its two-way spots Sunday by cutting Ryan and forward Jacob Toppin, the latter of whom had already been active for the maximum 50 games at the NBA level this season. Ryan agreed to a contract with the Knicks on Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Ryan was recently selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 G League Draft by the Knicks' affiliate in Westchester, but he'll get moved up to the parent club to fill the 14th spot on the 15-man roster. A career 41.1 percent shooter from beyond the arc over parts of three seasons in the NBA, Ryan will provide the Knicks with additional floor spacing, but he's not guaranteed to be regularly featured in head coach Tom Thibodeau's rotation.

Pelicans' Matt Ryan: Upgraded to standard deal
The Pelicans signed Ryan to a standard NBA contract Saturday.
Since the Pelicans claimed him off waivers from the Timberwolves in October, Ryan has spent the entire 2023-24 campaign as one of New Orleans' three two-way players. Heading into Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Lakers, Ryan has appeared in 27 games (one start) while averaging 5.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 three-pointers in 14.4 minutes per contest. While Ryan isn't expected to be part of New Orleans' rotation during the team's upcoming playoff run, his conversion from a two-way deal to a standard NBA contract at least ensures that he'll be eligible to play during the postseason.
